Howell has 19 TDs and 15 interceptions that is not outstanding play, he also has been sacked more than any other QB.

That's the short-sided view. Not shared by many.
But you're welcome to it. That's what we do here.

Long as its not with the Steelers or as our Offensive Coordinator. Not impressed at all.

I'm a bit mixed. I kind of agree with you.
If they rebuild the coaching staff (Tomlin resigns) all bets are off.
If Tomlin remains, he is a candidate since he fits the modius. (I don't really think it's a good fit, I'd prefer more of a hotshot off SF staff, or one of those teams that ranked high)
Hell, Frosty the Snowman would be better than Canada.

Can you imagine Frosty the Snowman calling plays for Rudolph? :lolol:

The “Rooney rule” is about as ridiculous a rule as has ever been made.

Does SF have any hot shots though? That offence is Kyle Shanahan's offence. Without him, are any of those coaches worth having? Who knows. I doubt even he knows. Or perhaps the ones that have been with him for a few years have learned a thing or two and will be the next offensive guru. Who knows.

At least with Bienemy, you know what you have. He has a pretty good offensive mind. He's proven himself. Not sure why so many people don't like him. I don't know if he's perfect, but we could do worse

Sam Howell was the leading yardage passer in the NFL for a lot of the season.

We can't even break 200 yards a game throwing with anybody.

Sam Howell probably has more 300 yard passing games, this season, than all the Steelers' QBs (combined) since 7.

    He's also a 5th round pick.

I believe a minority coordinator promoting internally doesn’t require an outside minority candidate be interviewed.

No way he won't get a HC position. So I think it'll be Arthur Smith.

I would bet a lot of his stats come in garbage time, Washington is often trailing in games.

And the Steelers were winning and in the playoff hunt when Pickett was healthy, I'm not impressed by Howell's stats, him team stinks.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Washington replaced him as the starter next season.

Howell was forced to play hero ball every week and take risks because he had McLaurin, and pretty much nobody else of note on his team. Every time I watched, he did what he possibly could in lousy circumstances.

And to think, we could have had Todd Monken last year, but no, keeping Matt Canada was the priority

A couple years back I mentioned Howell when he was still in his sophomore year at UNC when he had
talent on his team, he was dynamite ,when they left he came back down to earth. He would provide excellent competition
for KFP and bring much needed talent to the QB room. Plus he is tough. KFP needs to build his body up much better
this off season than last. He seems susceptible to injury problems. He has to not play as tight as he played this
year.( this may have been out of his hands) He has athletic talent he is not using. Maybe if the continuation of building a better OL and a starting center than can execute the center
qb exchange would be a start in the right direction.

They were also very lucky in at least 3 of their wins when they were 7-4...It was maybe the worst 7-4 team in NFL history especially on offense!

Biggest problem for Washington this year is their defense who is the worst in the NFL

Yeah, and Howell headed into his last season as a projected top 10 pick. I remember you wanting us to draft him before his last season at UNC and I said good luck, we’ll have to trade up to get him. Well, I was pretty wrong on where he went after that rough last season with some really mediocre talent around him. He was my top QB in the draft in 2022, not Pickett.

That guy who was originally projected as a top 10 pick is not gone. He struggled when the talent around him was worse than their opponents in most of their individual matchups with the defense (both his last season at UNC and this year with an awful Washington team), but with quality talent around him I think he could be a solid NFL starter.

Who cares? You think other teams didn't win some games by being lucky.

It happens to every team but you can't rely on that in the long run
