Last week sometime Tomlin was asked about Pickens dogging on the field. Said something like "We had a very good talk about his problem.". Yesterday, Pickins was asked how that talk with his Couch went. Pickins claims there was no talk. Later on he blamed the media who don't understand football for trying to ruin his career. Now what ?

Pickens is an immature punk. Might have all the talent in the world but a terrible team player.

As far as I’m concerned, if Tomlin doesn’t deactivate Pickens at least for the Bengals game he’ll lose any remaining credibility that he currently has.

Maybe the best thing that could happen to this team would be to bench Pickens for this game and then watch the team win a game without him. I would also make a point to throw the ball to whoever takes his position. Can you imagine someone like Boykin playing his ass off and catching a couple deep balls while Pickens is sitting? The all hustle, special teams ace that does everything you want from an effort perspective, but just isn't that talented.

    Well.....a man can dream.

I personally would like to see Calvin Austin the Third get some playing time myself! Then I realized that such an outcome isn't happening.

I was watching some footage of Mason Rudolph from the preseason and was struck by how often and CA3 connected on big plays. It would interesting to see if he'd actually called up a bit more if Mason starts...but yeah, probably not likely.

The bench is the best motivator in all of sport.

Tomlin is doing the opposite of what people are calling for on purpose. Dude’s a total POS.

and the pocket book, fine him for conduct detrimental to the team, which in this case is quitting on your team. Union will prevent that I'm sure. He's the worst kind of teammate you can have, aid and comfort to the enemy so to speak. But rings in my head is Remember the Titans, "Attitude reflects leadership", and that leadership is severely lacking!!

Other than having the talent to make contested catches he hasn t done much at all, but we do have a pretty lousy downfield passing game , and not a great QB and a pretty bad Oline. He hasn't even established himself and already he is going off the rails. AB was the best in the league for quite a few years before Burfict broke his brain.
Tomlin's idea of being a players coach is falling apart, even Watt has made comments about how they practice.
Pickens must of been a Tomlin draft pick because I don't think Tomlin ever admits when he is wrong.
If Noll or Cowher coached him he would have his ass glued to the bench.

I get the sentiment but from a strategical perspective and keeping in mind this is at the HIGHEST level, deactivating your biggest weapon on offense to address a behavioral issue when we are in a situation where we basically have to win out to keep any hope alive at a post season, would be terribly ill-advised and borderline unhinged.

Yeah, I can see that, don't like it but see it. How about punting instead of trying a doable field goal ? Borderline unhinged? We just can't win.

True, but you have to look at the big picture.

Deactivate him and go with it. What does Tomlin say? "Next man up"

    1000% agree.

This should be a defining moment in Tomlin's career. Deactivating Pickens sends a message and goes a long way toward repairing the locker room. Giving him a helmet only enables him and makes the problem worse. It's that cut and dry.

I understand, but Pickens actions on the football field are some of the most egregious I’ve seen. Our biggest weapon has become a liability. Time to sit him, unhinged or not.

Not only is Pickens making himself unplayable, he's also making himself untradeable

There’s a sucker born every minute, and many of them become owners, GMs and coaches of NFL teams.
