After further review it may have been clean. Brutal but clean. No?

I didn’t see it, but Billy and Wolf said he was going for the ball.

I wasn’t even aware NFL put the college targeting rule in? Shouldn’t it have been a flag for first offense?

I feel the same way about it. It was worthy of a penalty but not an ejection.

He's getting fined and probably suspended either way. He launched. Doesn't even matter that he didn't actually lead with his helmet. He launched at his head.

Bang bang and couldn't be avoided? Maybe. But it won't matter.

It was a clean hit. The penalty was a joke, and getting ejected was an even bigger joke

Clean hit. Bang bang play. Receiver basically dove into a low stroke zone hit.

The rules have made it impossible to play defense. A defenders job is to break up passes and he did that but because of the launching rule it is an illegal hit.

So basically the only thing Kazee could do on that play because of how the rules are drawn up is allow Pittman to make the catch and just touch him to make sure he is down.

    Ruining. The. Game.

The defender has to be able to make as play on the ball or the receiver! If the receiver dives for a ball, then he is basically eliminating himself from protection and should be allowed to be hit, the defender should not have to allow the receiver a free path to the ball!! I call this a very bad call and it was clean, ejection should have never been an option!!

    Receiver was airborne head first.

    Contact was unavoidable.

Yeah the only other option is just to let him catch it now if you cant get to the ball before the receiver, that's it. Any hard "Ryan Clark" hit is immediate flag and fine, etc!!!

The NFL has taken this to a new level of softness.

Receiver laid out for the ball - safety also heading full speed. Bang - bang play.

I was watching a post game local pittsburgh show with a clear still shot and it looks hard but clean he did not use his helmet and he was low

Cris Hoke said if they had reviewed it they would of canceled the penalty

It’s not even football anymore. So many of the 70’s Steelers would be ejected every week.

No you cannot have forcible contact to the head on a defenseless WR

These plays need to be reviewable. So does roughing the QB calls. It was a hard hit. Kazee lowered his head to hit with his shoulder. You hate the penalty call, but the ejection was a knee-jerk overreaction.

And if the league has fined him and possibly suspended him later, maybe that was the right call. There is no targeting call in the NFL. No way in hell that warranted an ejection. The officiating crew screwed the Steelers royally tonight.

His feet are still touching the ground how is that launching?. I thought launching was when you left your feet and dove at the other player?.

I thought initially they were both diving for the ball at the same time. Upon replay i did see Pittman definitely had it in his grasp before Kazee went for the hit. I think he was trying to separate Pittman from the ball but unfortunately Pittman had it grasped up close to his helmet and the hit looked a lot worse then what it really was. I didn't agree with the ejection either and it was a bit knee jerk.

I don't disagree. I'm not even sure it warranted a flag.

I'm just saying that is what will happen. Welcome to Goodell's NFL
