Yeah, I didn't get the third down call before that bomb either. The clock was stopped with five seconds before the two minute warning with two yards to go, and the Steelers went empty set in the backfield. Why not run the ball or at least show the option for run on that play to open up throwing lanes? The clock would have stopped if they didn't pick up the first down on a run, and then you would have time to set up a play to get it on fourth and short. This coaching staff, however, is completely clueless and incapable of making proper in-game decisions.

I don't have any allusions that Pickett is elite, but this offense is badly constructed and not worthy of a potentially elite level QB. Until the coaching is fixed, any QB they bring in they will ruin.

 

The team's poor preparation coming into this game was the bigger issue, just as it was on Sunday. And that is all on Tomlin.

Well that sentence on the defense winning THEM games, reminds me of Briggs in the 3rd grade, but I agree on your sentiment on Tomlin.

 

If Tomlin stays, he needs to clean house. Austin was pathetic today in his adjustment to cover Henry. You cannot spot the other team 21 points with this offense

All of you who hate Tomlin, why would you watch his press conferences?

 

It's not a stupid question at all. Most of you hate his guts but you continue your aggravation by watching a press conference knowing it's going to be all "coach speak"

 

Stay to do what? The problem is Tomlin. He is mediocre coach carried by a HoF QB and inherited Superbowl teams.

The only way to clean house is to clean him out as well.

 

We have completely different philosophies about gathering and processing information. Seems like you only want to listen to people who you think you like, regardless of their actual impact on the thing that you are interested in. That's one way to go through life.

 

And it seems like you want to listen to someone you hate knowing that what he says after the game is just going to make you hate him all over again. That's another way to go through life.

This all seems so long ago.

The Patriots had three weapons left, none of them all that special. The Steelers couldn't stop any of them in the first half. Part of that is the injuries at linebacker. Part is the team showing up unprepared to play, which was just inexcusable in that situation. Even with the stinker against the Cardinals, the Steelers could have been in great shape with a win Thursday. Now they need at least three wins in the final four games and all of those opponents are a hell of a lot better than the Patriots.
