My takes from watching the game and this video:
    • Kenny appeared more comfortable and was throwing into NFL coverages
    • At times Kenny drops a dime, at others he loses the play missing the proper window
    • The play calling was much better in its situational relevance
    • DJ better have gotten an earful from somebody over his sulking during Warren's fumble.. still salty over it
    • Need to see crisper throws/routes from Kenny/WRs to get more splash, but it was a good step from where they've been
    • Nice to see plays that incorporated strategic routes rather than disconnected X/Y/Z arrows thrown down on a page
    • It would be nice to have a strong leader in the WR room
    • Pass blocking was better, but still had some errors in execution

let's not over react or under react.

Cincy had their heart ripped out when Burrow went down. Kenny did not suck yesterday - he had sucked in many games prior - even WITH open WR's.

Let's keep it in perspective - we scored 16 points.

    better....is BETTER.

let's see more in the final 6 games.

and let's hang 30 a few times and let's BLOW someone out!

I'm curious to know who you think is over/under reacting, doesn't understand that better is simply better, doesn't want to see how the next six games go, etc. An analysis is just an analysis. I didn't post this to be anything but extra optics on the passing game, particularly the first week sans Canada.

I have to give a lot of credit to George Pickens. When Cleveland attempted the onside kick most people who recover the ball immediately fall down. Pickens was smart enough to know if he could stay up for 4 seconds the game would be over. Way to go George.

I was with you up to here. When do we ever blow someone out?! I won't be holding my breath.

We took a very positive step in the right direction. No. It's not enough yet. But it is a good first step - I don't care who we were playing.

Sure, it didn't translate to points. That's disappointing. But the offense seemed, dare I say it? Competent.

There's been a lot of back and forth in here about who was the bigger problem: Canada or KFP? I think it's safe to say we know that answer solidly now. Kenny has a long way to go. But he wasn't the problem. I'm interested to see how he develops now that the albatross isn't around his neck. Maybe his ceiling isn't that high. But it's clear it was not that low.

I said in the off- season that I expected the Steelers to be better this season. That may not mean a better record. But playing better. The offense was way worse for the first 10 games! But they looked a lot better overall on Sunday. Let's hope they can continue to improve.

I thought Harris ran hard and got some decent yardage.
Warren I think struggled a bit only because they must of been using Canada plays for him as he got stuffed a few times. The D saw it coming.
Diontae needs to find his big boy pants and grow a pair, and stop throwing your hands in the air asking for PI everytime you drop a pass. Come back towards the QB so the DB can t under cut it.
I was mildly impressed with a few guys that might be 3rd or 4 th string guys or just recent call ups, making a few plays . Walker n Sullivan I think .
Pickens was missed a few times and instead of getting pissed he blocked well on a couple of runs and made a smart play on the short kick off.

So, if they score 29 points a few times and win, will you still complain about them not scoring 30 points?

We SHOULD blow the Patriots out this year. They are SO bad, and its at home. No excuses to not win that game by 10 or more points.

Good first step. Need some more.

I don't care as much about the points, because if we average 400+ yards of offense the rest of the way, we will average more than 16 PPG. Unfortunately Kenny has averaged about 17 PPG as a starter, need that to go up the next 6 (hopefully 7+) games.

Well, we certainly know that Canada was a problem. Its not definitive yet, since you can't make blanket assessments off one game... but it sure looks that way. I don't think Kenny's absolved himself from being the problem yet either though. It was one game, and he needs to continue to replicate that. If he goes back to stacking 150 yard stinkers, then we are in for a long end of the season and likely a new QB in 2024. There are a lot of flaws in his game that he can develop, but he is still young. Maybe there is more hope than I though. Still has a lot to prove and a long way to go in order to wash the stink off the last 20 or so games.

I would expect us to continue to improve. We get Minkah back, Montravius back, Cam gets another week healthier, etc. If the offense can start stacking performances like the one in Cincy and the defense stays healthy, we will be a tough out to end the season.

Before watching this I didn't know the NON-TD pass to DJ was such a badly thrown ball. DJ had to do a complete 180 to catch the ball, should have been an easy Pass and Catch if Kenny had thrown it in front of DJ, and not behind him.

Warren completely missed that Blitz pickup. I remember in the old Days, you would see Ben completely reposition his running back before the snap to the spot where he thought the Blitz was coming from. I don't know if Kenny is ready to start pointing out Blitz pickups to the RBs yet.

Should have been caught. Easy catch and perhaps Kenny was leading away from the safety in middle that was coming over. /shrug DJ is a good player. Unfortunate he has these gasps that keep him from elite discussion.

Warren got the ball on (downs)plays that Najee gets and it showed. They were keying on him after he busted that 75 yarder the previous week. He's starting to get more attention, which means teams are game planning with the focus on his tendencies. This is why it's a good idea to keep Najee as the #1 and then hit them with Warren when he has the hot hand.

I don't know Kurt Warner and a few others didn't think it was a badly thrown ball. Most of the others said it was a touch late and that's why he had to put it where he did. He needed to trust that a few beats earlier and he could have placed it in front of him right as he got to the goal line. He was half a step late and couldn't do that or the safety lights him up.

I saw where Pickett hurt his ankle and didn't practice but is a go for Sunday. Not sure how true or serious. AFCN already is 2 QB's down, don't need another one. Now I sure wouldn't cry if 1 more wearing purple got a boo boo.

I , and @strummerfan@strummerfan pointed this out. It should have been a really simple catch.

If You have to spin around the opposite way You are full out running....it's a poorly thrown ball....especially as wide open as He was. It still should have been caught, but people are starting to sound like Lamar Jackson fans on here now.....where if You can get a finger on it .....it should be caught. LoL

I think it was a good throw for when he threw it because the safety was coming over, but I think he could have thrown it a hair earlier. It looks like he took just an extra little bounce after the back foot hit the ground.

Sometimes the difference between a good throw and a bad throw is a split second in either direction. Probably was the case on this specific throw. Cost us a TD unfortunately.
