Coaching staff as a whole

But Reid is a top 3 head coach according to you....This is just that you don't think that coaching is important in football

Of course,talent matter,but coaching matter too...It take both!

In his first two years with the 49ers, the 49ers were in a true rebuild....They were still competitive in the majority of games despite that, especially on offense. Shanahan has often been in the super bowl with Jimmy G and almost been with him again in 2021 and who knows what would have happened if he had a QB in the game against the Eagles last year....In 2016, Matt Ryan was a MVP with Shanahan as OC and Ryan wasn't the same after that

 

Trust me, I hate the whole just having a winning season just as much as anyone, but what is the prize for just winning a playoff game? Bottom line is that anything less the winning the Super Bowl is a wasted season.

I mean look at the Bills that went to Super Bowl in 91,92, 93 and 94. And they still have yet to win a Super Bowl. 12 teams have never Won the Super Bowl. 4 teams has never even been to the Super Bowl.

Moral of the story is that at least Tomlin has 2 Super Bowl appearances and most importantly a Super Bowl Win. Bill Cowher had the same amount of appearances and wins. But everyone wanted him gone, but still yet the Super Bowl Tomlin won has always been considered to be because of Cowher players. So just maybe if everyone wouldn’t have gave up on Cowher he could have brought us more Championships.

All Im saying is that sometimes you don’t know what you have til they are gone. We have been fortunate to have 3 HOF coaches, with these 3 coaches we are the 4th team with the most wins Knoll 209, Tomlin 177 and Cowher 161.

Once again I’m tired of just not having a losing season, but I don’t think a new Coach is the answer, I think we are starting to make steps in the right direction. Weidl and Khan, Firing Canada. We are just missing a few pieces. We are a lot closer then what we would be if we started off with a new Coach.

 

And what exactly does making it to the Super Bowl get you and not winning it...Look at the Bills in 91, 92, 93 and 94....Made it to the big game and LOST and still have NEVER won a Super Bowl?

 

Still a great accomplishment to make the super bowl 4 times in a row

Is it a great accomplishment or pure embarrassment of not being able to win at least 1 out of 4 (The only 4 they have been to) Been almost 20 years and they still haven't been back.

 

And Your point??? He can still be a top 3 head Coach right now, and still never have won a SB without P. Mahomes.

Much better than missing the playoffs or being one and done in the playoffs...This is a major difference....

 

Going to the super bowl is never an embarrassment, especially when their last 3 teams they lost, they were all better than the Bills

 

LOL...The two years before Shanahan was hired, the 49ers were 5-11 in 2015 and 2-14 in 2016...it wasn't the same roster as 2012 or 2013

 

He was still a great head coach before 2018

One thing I remember well under Cowher, we blew a few teams out every year.

I can't recall more than maybe one blowout win under Tomlin in the past 4 years. We've probably averaged under 1 blowout win per year over the past 10 years..unacceptable.
