My thoughts on regular season wk 11

well, ONE QB was in his SECOND START.

 

We clearly do not trust Pickett. We call plays like we think he sucks... because he sucks. We run screens and short little stuff because we are trying to hand hold him into doing literally anything positive with the football.

Warren is our best offensive player. We definitely needed to get him the rock on either of the last two possessions and we didn't. Inexcusable. The majority of the blame there falls on the coaches. I also agree that he needs to be the feature back. Been saying it for weeks now...

Pickett has regressed all season, it's just continued to be painfully obvious the past few weeks. Every QB is allowed some stinkers (Hell, even Ben had his fair share), but its all he's got. We probably roll with Pickett for the rest of the season, but we really can't afford to do more. We at least game him a really fair shake to prove he was an NFL QB. He just couldn't hack it.

 

Not doubt. Like I said, it made sense for the Browns, but not the Steelers. The screen game wasn't working. They should have either opened it up more or just kept feeding Warren. Doing neither was just incredibly stupid.

Really it was his 7th punt that was really the only one that sticks out to me which was a shank! It was his 7th punt of the day. Not giving him a pass he is paid to punt the ball but man it seemed almost every possession was a punt!

Dan Moore will be replaced next season with Jones. Have to look at an upgrade for Cole. They can run block well but pass protection is just brutal across the board.

 

I can't blame much Harvin even if he is not good....I mean he must has a tired leg at this point....

 

Team hasn't improved in the past two years. The glaring same issues:

1. OLine
2. Passing routes
3. No offense in center of field. zippo
4. Jet sweep

No point in watching the team rest of way or for that matter as long as the same coaches are in place.

I could digest Kenny P sucking horrible/throwing multiple picks down the middle, but to not even attempt anything but sideline garbage just gives me a headache.

 

I hate the run play call from shotgun. Kenny takes the snap, holds the ball for a split second, then hands the ball to Najee, as if they are surprising the defense with that call. The only one who appears to be surprised is Najee. He is hit behind the line only a step or two after he gets the ball.

 

I thought Elandon Roberts had a good game.

 

If you think Canada is here next year I have a bridge to sell.

 

I don't THINK he will be here. I also don't think he SHOULD be here either.... However if you told me we have to bring 1 of either Kenny or Canada back, I'd take my chances with a different QB in a Canada system before I took my chances with Kenny in any system.

 

I could understand if the defender leads with the crown of the helmet, but that was not the case with Highsmith. The current rules for roughing the passer are laughable. They should at least remove the term "roughing", change it to "inconveniencing the quarterback".

 

This is where Canada is terrible and Coach T has blame too. You are watching the game like we are so you have to see what is working, what's not and then to adjust your play calling. sometime it seems like Canada looks at his chart and is like well I haven't run this in a while so its time or two runs were great lets go to the well the the 3rd time in lieu of maybe a play action pass. Next week we will see the bomb attempt down the middle again to austin since it wasn't even tried this week. This game plan totally sucked and seemingly they had blinders on to what was happening on the field.

 

Is it a pretty one? With a couple of steeples?

 

Wow, you honestly think that deserves a fine, shouldn't even be a penalty.

 

Tomlin and his non loosing seasons is a major problem this team and organization are going nowhere there is nothing to look forward to except more years of crap football

 

Mike Tomlin is a terrible coach

 

Helen Keller, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles would have seen that but no no Coach T and Canada are like yeah lets see how fast we can get through three downs and give the Browns the ball back and the cherry on top is they don't have to use any timeouts!!!

I don't expect any changes in offensive philosophy this year. It has won them 6 games, so they will stay the course. If it by dumb luck they make the playoffs, they will only be what amounts to a tune-up game, or a "jobber" in pro wrestling parlance. I don't understand what harm it would be in just handing Pickett the ball and telling him to cut it loose. He might throw a couple of picks? So what?

Plus, I'm all for giving Warren more touches. He runs like an angry bear. And he has more lateral quickness than Harris.

 

If you want it to stop ruining games the players need to learn. The rules aren't going to revert, they're going to get stricter.

I thought I read something similar at the end of last year. JMO>

 

1. Warren was/is our best offensive player
2. Force feeding Najee runs isn't doing anyone any good
3. Kenny needs to be better, or he needs to be benched.
4. Playcalling was/is too predictable
5. Harvin had a game to forget
6. Our offense has no balance or flow. It generally looks like random plays that we hope will work.
7. We missed a big opportunity with this loss today.
8. Najee might be expendable now

 

The rules themselves are ruining the game, now there is noise about the hip roll tackle, at some point they might as well make it flag football. I think that you would be hard pressed to find a single player or fan for that matter, who would say that the Highsmith tackle should be penalized, aside from the rule.

 

So you're saying Steelers should be 0-10?

Maybe we do have a chance!
