I agree with everything....except....I believe they will try to go a new OC.....just because it isn't working. Just Like Buffalo firing their OC.

Both can be true to a point, and if they lost one ....I believe it will be the OC. I just don't see them giving up on a 1st round pick that quickly. Have they ever???

I really like those style of QB'S because if healthy no Defense can really stop them.. Josh is banged up and without his QB sweep package he is a average QB at best .. If a Team intends to run the mobile 1st. type QB attacks then they need to invest in multiple mobile type QB'S ,as I have learned recently the NFL is just to hard on QBS for those guys to stay healthy for long...

Hmm. That's correct. I forgot, but didn't we have a HC change also???

That is why I don't like them. In high school, and college it's fine....because You don't have them that long, but in the NFL where a significant part of Your cap is spent on a Qb ....it's a different story.

I thought so. Do You think if We didn't change the HC he would have been gone so quickly?

I'm not saying he should be kept, but 10-7 and a playoff win would be a big step forward for the Steelers. Kind of hard to get rid of an OC after having a good year like that, regardless of where the offense is ranked. Anything less than that, then Canada should be gone

Also, if they don't make the playoffs, or are 1 and done, it may be time to clean house

McDaniels has done nothing away from Brady and the Patriots, Daboll probably gets another they're down to their third string QB.

I can’t imagine they haven’t. However, I believe kenny will get at a minimum of 3 years.

Golson was a second? Don’t think he made it to a 3rd year. That’s the most recent and high draft pick that comes to mind.

I have NO doubt that Canada has hindered Pickett’s development. None whatsoever. Does that mean Pickett is not culpable for some of his developmental delays? Of course not. I’m not sure Pickett is our guy at this point. I’m starting to have major doubts about his abilities and his overall football IQ. But I think he should and will be given a chance with a competent offensive coordinator before the Steelers give up on him. If Canada is back next season, I’m out. I’m still a fan but will not allow myself to get emotionally invested in an offense that puts me to sleep. I don’t recall when I’ve ever enjoyed watching a Steelers offense less than I enjoy watching this one.

He was around long enough for me to name my dog after him. Huey Graham was a wonderful Golden Retriever named after Huey Richardson and Jeff Graham, the Steelers second round pick that year. He was such a great dog. Loved to swim.

This all ties back to the whole "how do you fire BA" discussion. People always tried to muddy the water by saying things like how do you not keep a SB winning OC? Well technically he was the OC on a team that won a SB not sure it had a ton to do with him though but I digress. End of the day Tomlin, Kahn and AR2 have what they want to accomplish and if any coach doesn't meet those goals they simply move on. Doesn't have to be a hot seat saving performance or not just expectations were not meet, best of luck on future endeavors.

I don`t know if going 4-4 the rest of the way at the same level of play, then somehow winning ugly the first playoff game would save his job. Probably not.

IMO it depends how we get there. If the offense improves during the last 3 regular season games and we are then consistent and up to average in offensive output and win the first playoff game convincingly, losing the second game in a close score where we could blame the defense equally or more for the loss, then maybe he stays.

There is also the injury factor. All this assumes key players like Kenny and Watt play the whole season so blame is not spread around to other factors if we finish poorly.

The Teacher or the Student. Brian Daboll vs Ken Dorsey.

I don't know if Brian Daboll makes it out of his 2nd year in New York; Dorsey did not make it out of his 2nd year as OC.

Both Coaches may be available at the end of the season. Could a team hire both Daboll and Dorsey as OC and QB coach?

But it's the same basic scheme that they ran with Roethlisberger too, so they're not running it because of KP. It's just Canada's offense.

The topic is McDaniels as a OC not a head coach. Thats two different animals.

Yes and Ben would be tired of it by middle of the 3rd quarter and call his own plays
