My dog leaks pee during the day

2 year old female lab

She can drink like a water Buffalo before going to bed sleep in my bed all night and no problem

I’m at the beach this week and she takes a nap mid day and pees in her sleep on the bed or deck

Vet already has her on a med because of a few accidents at home but that seemed to work

Now at the beach she’s having issues

We take her out a lot

It’s like she gets in a deep sleep but why not at night

Any suggestions

 

I would think she needs imaging of the bladder to see if there's a physical reason for the leaking. Could be a simple fix today but not so simple down the road type thing. Good luck with her.

 

I've had dogs do that when they get extremely excited, but not while they sleep. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I’ll see what happens when we get home next week and if need be check with the vet

She already is on a medication and it seemed to be working

I did some research and salt water can cause frequent urination and diarrhea and she has both and she is at the beach and having a blast swimming in the ocean

She even seems to be learning to body surf

 

Labs do seem drawn to water.

 

Problem went away at home so I’m going with salt water
