You missed his other thread couple days ago, succinct and to the point like this one but it said "We are going to win the SB"

What makes anyone think next year will be better?

Well, I am hoping- here is why:

1- Failure- in terms of not making the playoffs - is a great motivator for positive change.
2- I strongly believe that the NFL will go to 14 playoff teams next year, which will make the playoffs easier to reach.
3- I believe that the youth movements started in the last 2 years in the secondary and OL- 2 of the most important areas of any football team- will continue to come to fruition next year.
4- The team played a lot of close games this year that they lost. That's a thin margin of error, and something that does not take a long trip to fix.
5- A third place schedule next year, which means they conveniently avoid playing 3 good AFC teams- Indy, Denver, and Houston.
6- And, and this is a hope- they will upgrade the RB position in the draft or free agency next year. The team was 1-7 when it rushed for less than 95 yards this year.

I doubt that would go into effect next year, more like 2 or 3 seasons down the road if it happens at all.

They can vote it in at the next rule changes meeting. I see playoff expansion as inevitable.

I am ADAMANTLY against that! There is enough dang mediocrity getting rewarded these days and if the NFL is the best of the best let's keep it that way and have more people on the outside looking in.

I think it's a terrible idea too, we're not hockey where just about every freaking team makes it in. Hopefully it doesn't pass the vote. The teams that are the bottom feeders will vote for it of course but maybe the teams that are usually playoff bound will want to keep the integrity of the game up.

There will be Steelers at the super bowl, the'll just be wearing pimp suits and have microphones in their hands.
