I've seen plenty of alphas that didn't need to jaw an opponent off the field, and plenty of betas that did. Take it for what you will.

 

That didn't enter my mind till you said it but he did or at least hopes to stop the taunting ON THE FIELD.

You could have a cool job as a writer for a sitcom. The stars we see on TV can present it but it's them writers in the back room who are funny. I was at a wedding once and a writer for a short lived sitcom on FOX (never remember the show. had 1 season.) was at our table. He had us laughing our ass off as he made fun of wedding party. No words spoken before a game, whether trash talking or complimentary, will impact the result of the game. It is absolutely illogical to think that a person plays difference because of the opponent’s criticism or praise. These are pro athletes playing for a paycheck.

Pickett should have thrown it a hair sooner, but Pickens was wide open and stopped running not to take a shot. That was a ball that should have been caught.

I don't want him to get lit up either, but that was a catch he should have made. He slowed down and reached for the ball instead of running to the ball and than catching and getting down. The defender didn't even touch him on the play.

Pickett definitely needs to anticipate better and throw the ball sooner. No doubt. I just know that any WR that is going to talk **** should not be putting stuff like that on tape.

I don't think anything Pickens said was drastic in any way, but if you think another player saying something publicly that could be perceived as derogatory doesn't give players on the other side some extra motivation - be it a few extra reps in practice, laps around the track, or an extra chip on the shoulder come game day - I think you're mistaken.

I generally try to keep low key with the federales

Although one time at the beach I had my dog an old lab off leash and was tossing a tennis ball into the surf when some old bitty read me the riot act about not having the dog on a leash

I suggested she could go copulate all by herself so she called the authorities

Some dweeb similar to a meter maid came out to the beach wrote me a ticket and notified me my old dog now “had a permanent record”

It took everything I had to keep my pleasant attitude quiet

(I once had a police officer tell me “I hope you have a damn good attorney” I handed him the business card for the United States Deputy Attorney General and that was the end of that issue)
