HERE IS HOPING MINKA FITZPATRICK HOLDS UP?

He is making way too many tackles for my liking, he is taking a beating at 205 lbs
Our coaching staff needs to look at this quickly.

 

He has 0 forced turnovers on the season. Interceptions or forced fumbles. I’m calling him the ghost of minkahs past this holiday season.

Im sure a lot of it has to do with coaching and the position he’s been put in but still make a damn play. TJ makes them all over the field.

 

He is a free safety, but Steelers have him playing like a strong safety. His body will not hold up making this many tackles.

 

I agree he’s not being used the right way. Don’t know why MT is allowing this.

Same problem that occurred in 2021 is rearing its ugly head this season. Losing a stud level IDL in Cameron Heyward forces Minkah in the box to off set the tackling woes. With any luck, 2024 is when the team can acquire a IDL in either FA or the draft.

 

You are exactly right he is best as a Robber so we actually need better CB play so we can use more DL and also we need another true FS to play deep in that Single high then our extra box person could be the hybrid SS/LB guy .. A simple concept with the goal being the playmaker in coverage or zone or combo and the hybrid guy as force or man coverage on a TE or becomes part of the blitz packages ..

... If only there was a CB on the roster who was drafted for the sole purpose of nullifying opposing number one WRs on the team!!! If only!!!...

Coaching staff is stupid. I thought the whole reason Minkah wanted out of Miami was because he was not being used correctly and now the same thing is happening here in the Burgh.

Pathetic that we have him up there tackling instead of roaming and disrupting. This staff utterly sux.

 

He should be used as a FS this where he can make disruptive plays.Game changer if you will,not making tackles at los.

 

That's what you get when your front seven get blown away or lack gap containment consistently. I don't know if it's scheme, losing one on one battles or just to eager to make splash plays, probably all of the above, but for the foreseeable future, this defense needs Minkah to support our run D

 

I get that they are doing it out of need but it’s a disservice to the guy and it’s pathetic that we are stuck making him play up. We are a mess.
