“The Pittsburgh Steelers have no plans to fire offensive coordinator Matt Canada or turn the play calling over to another coach on the staff, a person familiar with the situation shared this week,” Russini said. “I was told if a move was going to be made, it would have happened already. Though fans have criticized Canada and his play calling, Steelers players and coach Mike Tomlin have continued to show him support. I was told the team held a meeting this week to come together and search for some answers as they approach the bye week.”

    - Russini of The Athletic (The Athleitc is no better than Star Magazine, so take it FWIW)

I would not be surprise if Canada is back next year if the steelers average close to 20 PPG for the rest of the year and the steelers have 9-10 wins....This is the standard now and yes I know that this is the last year of the contract for Canada

Gerry Dulac, Steelers beat writer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts a weekly chat where fans ask questions about the team. One frustrated fan posed, “Who do you expect realistically the Steelers to target in the off-season for their inevitable vacant OC job?”

“Way too early to speculate,” Dulac wrote. But he did anyway.

“But a good one would be a Tomlin friend — Jon Gruden.”

Continuity is no substitute for competence. I cannot understand what they were thinking at the end of last season.

Another beauty from Fansided, the National Enquirer of the NFL. Cant post a link because it was on my phone GB feed and I am on my laptop.

"NFL reporter calls out Steeler fans of Matt Canada hate, hurting his family"...the 'article' written by Mike Powel quotes Aditi Kinkhabwaia from 93.7 the Fan. Tomlin has already stated Canada is not being fired or demoted, 'he is perfectly happy with this coordinator and what he is doing at the moment, so whats the point?' (I think he means the fire Canada chants at the games, including the Pens). Continuing, Now when you are chanting that all you are hurting are his family.

So yea MT is doing nothing, but the chants are hurting Canada's family so stop. lmao.

Canada was never getting fired mid-season, especially when they have a winning record. They should have gotten rid of him last offseason and I still don’t understand why they didnt but we are stuck with him now until his contract is up.

I can’t imagine that he will be back next season unless there is a miraculous improvement after the bye however

Warren Sapp caught wind of that and texted both Tomlin and Gruden. Gruden basically said "F-uc& no" and Tomlin said "Who writes this stuff??"
