Just to be clear, even if I preferred Arians as OC, I don't blame Haley for our failures we had in big games, especially not in 2017 against the Jaguars when our defense were just awful and way too soft!

Injuries to the offense in some playoff games were also a problem and I agree with those who say that Haley extended Ben's career

Haley wasn't perfect, especially for his play calling, but his system was very good, so in general he was a good OC for us.

How many SB's have we been to since Haley was fired?

They invested a lot in defense, like in 2013 to 2020, they used their first round pick each time in defense but they had bad draft pick by moment like in 2013, 2016 and 2019, serious injury like Shazier and bad coaching in defense didn't help too

Zero point zero, same as Haley.

You agree with mine while arguing against it at the same time. Cybil.

Jim Harbaugh from Michigan would be the perfect replacement for Tomlin.

    1. Offense oriented
    2. Cowher-like hard nosed disciplinarian
    3. Has NFL HC experience

The system would be really hard to change, but a new OC could add in different route combinations and running plays that use a lead blocker.

He did do a good job with the Niners.

He got Colin Krapernick to the Super Bowl for crying out loud!

Weren’t we in this same crappy position last year, speculating over whether or not Canada would be fired during the bye week? The Steelers went 7-2 in their last 9 games, largely with smoke and mirrors, but the offense still struggled in most categories. They committed to running the ball more, which obviously helped, and KP pulled a couple of wins out of his butt, but they still were at or near the bottom of the league in most offensive categories. The FACT is that Tomlin failed to do the right thing to ensure the success of this offense and the young players on the offense by firing Canada in the off-season and he needs to be held accountable. The fact that he is still “standing by Matt Canada” is unconscionable!

82 rushing yards in the first quarter for the ravens...The additional practice pads was a great decision

I think the problem is they start practice during the week at 10 am - Tomlin will announce MAJOR changes after the bye -- practice will begin at 9:50 ---that will prove they are willing to try anything. And the Steelers won't run away from the 9:50 practice time - they will run toward it.

Art and Harbaugh would never be able to co-exist. Harbaugh is a control freak who wears out his welcome everywhere.

Don't know about that. Khan and Harbaugh would well together. In my opinion.

Ben Johnson from the Lions would be my first phone call. Runs an excellent offensive scheme and could bring a new atmosphere/culture to this franchise.

Harbaugh is a head case, JMHO.

With how Jones looked in his first game starting, he might be keeping the job moving forward. He went up against solid vets in Clowney and Van Noy and did pretty well. He didn't start week 1 because he was out-performed by Moore in camp and preseason. It appears he has improved as he gets more work in NFL practices. There was never a reason overreact simply because he didn't start right away. He looks to be progressing just fine.

I think Jones played very well and I'm excited about his future, but we need to see a little more to know where he is at. Jones went up against a guy like Clowney, who is a very big, powerful player. I think that type of player is in Jones' wheelhouse because he is a very strong, physical player himself. I will be interested to see how he performs when he goes up against a smaller, quicker player that will test his technique and athleticism.

I'm not saying that Jones won't play well in that situation. I'm just saying that we really need to see a little more of him against different skillsets to truly see how far along he is and what parts of his game he may still need to improve and work on. It was a great start for him though.

Yeah, obviously. One game isn't enough to anoint someone the savior of the position, and he will be tested in very different ways. I think they should leave him out there to get better throughout the year and hopefully learn and become stronger for it.
