If they had lined up under center, did play action and the pass failed, I wouldn’t be too critical.
if they lined up under center, and gave the ball to Najee and he got stuffed, I wouldn’t be too critical.
If they lined up under center, and did a QB sneak or tush push, I wouldn’t be too critical.

But they did none of that. So they need to bear the brunt of all the criticism they’re getting.

Putting Pickett under center with Harris behind them would have given the offense more options. It would have forced the defense to account for more options. Yes, I teach students about straw man arguments. I could use the one you just made as an example. You wrote that it is incorrect to claim that no one was open, but no one was making that claim.
