Yea, none of this debacle is due to coaching, it's all the players' fault. Give me a f---g break.

And Magically the very same Kevin Gilbride got Eli Manning, and won 2 SBs as the OC. Imagine that. LoL, but He sucked with Kordell. Hmmm:hmm:

The supposed rumor about Rooneys being "hands off" is greatly exaggerated. Make no mistake, if Art wants someone added or deleted, it happens, period. The Rooneys purposely set up a facade so fans don't know who makes what decisions, but trust that no one stays if Rooneys don't want them to, period.

Did you not notice that right before Arians "retired" Tomlin gave him a vote of confidence, but then, just like that, the story came out about Bruce "retiring?" (Arians immediately refuted that claim saying he never told anyone he planned on retiring. That was a Rooney lie to escape blame on firing him.)

    Not only stubborn but arrogant

He clearly stated something to the effect that he wasn’t letting anyone tell him how to call plays

    Then he was let go

There is no rumor about the Rooneys being hands off and there never was

All owners can add or delete this is not a great revelation

He was probably given the option of retiring or being fired he took the retirement option then started mouthing off when he was gone

Kevin Gilbride was just not a good fit for the style of Kordell...The steelers offense were better in 2001.Canada is garbage no matter what

It has been mentioned before here but I do wonder how much input Art Rooney II has in coaching decisions as well as with hireings and firings.

Obviously he didn't retire, which just further reinforces the weak ownership of the Steelers. Hell, BA has a much better postseason record than MT over the past decade as a HC to include a Lombardi trophy. And hes not even coaching anymore. Tomlin won't ever sniff another superbowl title beyond the one he was gifted by Cowher. The Steelers owners and coaching staff is a laughingstock.

Dick Lebeau also won a playoff game more recently than the Steelers and he has over 80 years old now...This is that bad right now

    Edit:Lebeau has 86 years old

True! And to think that folks here were clamoring for Tomlin to be COY for getting his team to 8-8 in 2019 thus preserving his non-losing season record for the MT fan club to cling to.

Not to mention this absurdity than an owner that gets involved with any decision-making is somehow meddling. owning a business. You get to make decisions.

I think the Lombardi had a bit to do with the quarterback

With the state of the team over the last 3-6 years it’s hard to debate any criticism of the team not that I am

When we were 8-5 in 2019, I was feeling pretty good about Tomlin’s coaching that year. 0-3 down the stretch was a hell of a buzz kill.

The 11-0, 1-6 finish in 2020 was more of a buzzkill for me. But that team was basically the 2022 Vikings without a superstar WR.

Yeah like bringing in 12 pro Bowlers that year, and two HOFers, and a mental case that could have been a HOFer
