I was up by NY and got a sport talk show. Their fans want Tom Brady. I only heard one guy mention Ben. Man I'd get a kick seeing Ben in green.

Do they not remember Ben’s last season? He was a statue back there. Shades of Joe Namath with the Rams.

Yeah I don’t think there is any teeth to it. And Jets Oline is terrible, Ben wouldn’t come out of retirement to get his ass kicked anyway.

Made no sense to bring in Rodgers, an aging QB and give him that line to protect him.

It's the Jets. What do you expect? They built a great team, but screwed up on the quarterback with Wilson, so that was their best option.

I'm sure I ***** and moan about play calling as much as the next guy but the players make coaches look good. Say Pickett had a hell of a day and we scored 35-40 points and won. Guess what, Canada would be getting a lot of good post.

I doubt it. It is going to take more than one good game by the offense for me change my opinion of Canada.

Player execution/performance is much more important than play calling. As long as I've watched sports player execution is the most important factor in a win vs a loss.

NFL teams draft QB's high. NFL QB's are paid more than any other position. At times, teams can win regardless of QB performance. It's not the norm for NFL teams to win without good or quality QB play in the NFL.

Some teams are so desperate for QB's that we see Watson, Wilson, Rodgers, deals. Bad deals IMO. I also understand that some teams believe they are a QB away from being a championship winner.

For some odd reason, fans seem to believe that OC's win games. OC's don't win games. Players do. Some fans remain blind to this fact.

OC's don't win games bro. Players win games. If OC's won games they would be getting a lot more MONEY.

You’re the opposite extreme though, coaching has no affect on the game to you.

I posted a clip of a Bears play that had all the receivers ending up in the same spot. That’s bad coaching and absolutely affects the outcome of games.

Coaches need to put players in position to succeed.

Bro, that is what I said. People complain about play calling only when the play doesn't work. It works, it was a brilliant play call. Coaches can call plays but it's only as good as the players executing them.

On this board last year the OC got his ass handed to him but as I said if the players executed them our OC would be loved.

I didn’t see the clip you’re referring to, but if all of the receivers ended up in the same spot, wouldn’t it be more likely a receiver or 2 screwed up? Hard to imagine an OC drawing up something like that.

I get what Ben is saying. Kenny was nervous or something. He was total garbage for most of the plays. It probably made sense to give Kenny some easy short plays just to get settled down. build a little momentum. A little confidence. If Kenny's throws weren't off target they were poor reads. He did not make many good decisions out there.

I am not at the extreme opposite. My stance is players win games.

Coaches are teachers. They educate players on the ways plays can be successful.

It's up to players to "put in the work" to become the best players they can be.

I don't know about Bears coaching. I am sure that the Bears coaches didn't coach the players to be in the same spot at the same time. The players probably made the mistake IMO.

You think about this for a second. Most coaches are older and have more experience than the players they coach. Would you teach players to arrive at the same point if you were a coach?

    Players need to execute, period.

Where coaching decisions clearly impact a game are when to take a FG vs a punt, going for a TD on 4th and goal, going for it on 4th and 1 in own territory, or other instances. The right play call on a given down and distance is open to criticism.

The Chiefs loss vs the Lions. Both coaches made questionable decisions that could had cost their teams a chance to win the game. Player execution good or bad generally decided the outcome.

You choose the all star coaches 1st. I choose the all star players 1st. Who wins the game? Vegas will bet on me.

You’re too dismissive of the importance of coaching, it’s very important. You don’t think LeBeau’s defensive scheme was instrumental in that defense dominating? Of course it was.

The Bears film was broken down by a former NFL QB, I’m going to assume he recognizes formations. It was two players running corner routes, I made it sound like they ran 4 wide and all ended up together but the point stands, it was poor design.

There isn’t allot of talent separation at this level, the best of the best make it, a well coached team is the one that usually wins. There are plenty of ex players that have weighed in on Canadas schemes saying they make no sense and that he doesn’t know how to set up plays for later in the game.
