To all the RB and receives on this team. Please take notice on how Franco was carrying the ball. High and tight. Try it you maybe surprised at the results.[IMG]

Special note to Wallace: this is how to catch a ball!

Further note to Antonio Brown: This is how to run TOWARD a live ball, not away from it.

Even further not to anyone not wearing #'s 25 and 83. This is how not to give up on a play.

Yeah the football life is a good series. I'm going to watch it Tonight for sure, looks great. Madden refused to do an interview for it, 40 years later and he is still bitter about it. Football was sure different then, The assasian Tatum would have been fined 100,000 today for that hit on Fuqua.

Phil Villipiano was on NFL AM this morning, talking about the show and the play. Franco Harris calls him every year, on the play's anniversary. Funny. Villipiano said that there were new camera angles in the show that PROVE Fuqua touched the ball first. Somehow, I think this was tongue and cheek, and deep down he knows the play is legal.

One thing about Technology, hasn't all the camera's and angles, and HD TV, really change how you watch it in the day, I look at the old footage and I always say wow, hasn't technology come a long way.

Watching the show now. Wish I had gone to the history center when I was in Pitt.
Atkinson is still a big crybaby and so is Madden.

To me, the slow-mo replay in this original broadcast, CLEARLY shows the ball his tatum and that the ball never hit the ground.

Atkinson and Tatum, my god, the twins of evil. I hate them both.

BTW, - Franco is my favorite athlete of all time, this play made me a Steelers fan for life going on 40 years now, and I've met him in person and he was great to me.

    However-
I found the OP's point somewhat humorous and ironic- without checking to prove it, I'm recalling that Franco fumbled the ball away more than all of our current RB and WR combined.

You know that play didn't even result in a SB victory but they break it down as the turning point to the Steelers overall success. In that regard I would have to say that Ben Roethlisberger's shoestring tackle off the Bettis fumble in the AFCCG in 2005 probably deserves the next most recognition. Ultimately it resulted in a 5th Lombardi trophy.

I heard Bradshaw isn't showing up to the ceremony, I guess I'm not surprised and can understand him not being totally fond of that play, but I still wish he would be there. I hate that Bradshaw has such an issue with coming back to the burgh.

I hope Big Ben doesn't stay away after his playing days are done...

Why would Bradshaw not be fond of that play?

Did you notice how after pulling off the greatest play in NFL history, Franco was looking for an official to toss the ball to? No excessive celebrations. No flips into the endzone. No running backward. No salsa dancing or shivering and shaking. He simply did his job and didn't need to showboat afterward. When some of the guys today get a first down you'd have thought theyd just made the greatest play ever. Listen up AB and Sanders (and about half of the rest of the league).

Apparently he is sick of talking about the play, and also he doesn't like being remembered for an errant throw....
