Steelers Legendary Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger Critical Over Mike Tomlin's Decision On Offense
Steelers Legendary Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger Critical Over Mike Tomlin's Decision On Offense (msn.com)

Ben was dead on in his guess that the starters would play a few series in the 3rd preseason game, because they were pulled early in week 2.

Rather than say Ben was right about the Steelers Starters playing in Weeks 3 this B.S. article tries to go on about how Ben was criticizing Tomlin about their playing time in game 2.

What a hatchet Job. I didn't know anything about this article and thought it was hilarious when I watched this episode today about how right Ben was on exactly what the Steelers were going to do in game 3 in Atlanta.
Here is the Footbahlin episode. Episode takes place before the Atlanta game from Some Hotel in a Brewery.

Ben's comment was before preseason game 3 but here what he said in this article

Not a big deal....The title of this article was just a clickbait....

This post wins the award for most convoluted thread title ever.

I don’t know if he was being critical but he was certainly questioning him. What exactly did Tomlin learn about situational football that he preaches.

I agree with him. Yeah, I was very happy the team had endzone success on some splashy chunk plays, but I too did want and expect a 3rd series after quick strikes like that.

Nothing to be seen here. Sensationalized mountain making from a mole hill.

I know what people are saying about situational football, but you have to assume that the situations show up. Pickett had 4 third downs in his five series (10, 8, 7, and 5 yards) and completed passes on all of them, the first being 11 yards on the 3rd and 10. 3rd and 8 went for 33 yards and a td. 3rd and 7 was a 10 yard pass. 3rd and five, backed up on their 13, he throws for 33.
They avoided getting themselves into "situations". I'll take that.

I don't care what Ben has to say anymore, every time he says something on his podcast people make a big deal about it .

I like watching Ben's podcast, because it has made me realize just how high of a Football IQ Ben had. I always thought Ben didn't practice enough, or watch enough tape, but as someone once pointed out about Ben, I think it was Charlie Batch, Ben gets it in 1. That is what made him successful from game 1 of his NFL career.

Ben practices a play 1 time and he's Got It, He watches a film 1 time and he's Got It. He doesn't need all that practice time, he doesn't need all that film time; He Gets it in 1.

Watching his Podcast when he talks NFL Strategy, has opened my eyes on Ben's football IQ. This is probably the greatest reason he was so successful late in the game when he was running the offense.

All those DNP - NIR used to drive me freaking crazy!!!

I know you aren't the biggest Big Ben fan, but there are some things about playing the quarterback position that really aren't something you can argue about.

To be successful, a quarterback needs to have a full understanding of the plays in the playbook and where everyone is on the field. They also need to be able to recognize coverages pre-snap, and after the ball is snapped because defenses try to trick quarterbacks by giving them looks to make them think they are in a different coverage than what they are really playing. Another thing is that to play at a high level, quarterbacks can't see receivers open. If they stare down receivers, they throw a ton of interceptions. They need to anticipate where receivers are going to be. Quarterbacks can only do that if they know every bit of the playbook.

The only way a quarterback can be good enough to go to the Hall of Fame is if he understands the game in a way that hardly anyone does and processes that information on a level that hardly anybody on the planet does. Physical gifts only get you so far. You can't do that and accomplish that without doing a great deal of work and a great deal of repetitions. Nobody can play the position at a high level without that. It simply can't be done.

    It was real ugly
It was not a hard decision
    I can live with that
But there are some things I saw that I will never unsee
Defendant represented himself because his attorneys wanted him to plead insanity
He attacked his attorney and fired him
Judge had to beg a friend to sit at the table while he defended himself
3 fights broke out with audience members jumping over the rail to attack him over 3 separate days
His klan are apparently bad people and we were escorted to our cars every night
There were 14 sheriff deputies in the court room plus undercover narcotics as extras (who weren’t hard to pick out) when the verdict was read

I don’t hate Ben I don’t hate many people although I recently met one

I just tremendously dislike people who take a paycheck and don’t give 100%

    Ben did not

Put icing on him any way you want to but it’s still icing on a turd

And that’s without what he has done as a person
