Defensive Line Dilemma

Depends on who has PS availability. Heyward, Ogunjobi, Leal, Benton are locks. That leaves Adams, Watts, Fehoko, and Loudermilk as the guys fighting for their spots. We generally keep 7. Will we keep 8? By the sounds of the article, we know we are keeping 7 and cutting someone who is an NFL capable guy. Who will that be?

To me Adams, Watts and Fehoko all are NT/DT guys. Fehoko the most limited to role. Loudermilk is a pure DE, but with the 4 locks all either DE's or DE capable guys is it too crowded at the position to keep him around?

It is a good problem to have for sure. The front 7 in its entirety is super deep this year. Loving our depth at DL, OLB and ILB.

 

Loudermilk seems to be playing a lot in preseason. Sometimes that is a good sign. Sometimes that shows you that he has to fight for the job. Fehoko stood out on a few plays against the run in the game against the Bills. I'm just not at all impressed with Adams or Watts. If they only keep six, I wouldn't mind seeing those two be the ones to go.

 

I think Watts offers more versatility than Adams, they can play Fehoko and Benton at NT and cut Adams.

with herbig and dotson hurting where do they turn? don't say it.

 

Who do you all have making the DL on this year’s 53? I have been mostly interested in the OL and WRs this TC and preseason. I’m thinking Cam, Leal, and Ogunjobi are locks. Benton and probably one of the FAs will most likely make the cut. But I really don’t know.

They may cut both, especially if they keep Fehoko. Of the two, I agree that Adams should be the first to go.
