practice squad eligibility

who has it and i know last year they changed it for veteran players to be put on the squad. is that still the case? will this change who makes the 53? does anyone know what are the rules on this for the upcoming season?

pczach's link is pretty thorough, you would think 16 players would give a depth component for most positions. One of the real questions that have to enter decision making minds are guys who the really like and want to keep, but perhaps are overshadowed by someone on the team who long term has less ability, but this year might be more beneficial on sp teams or depth. Do you risk cutting and him being signed to another PS, or eventually getting snatched, or cutting the other guy who may sign with someone else (if PS eligible) or get snatched as well. Most every year there are camp 'stars' that get cut and a lot of us moan, and then we never hear from that guy again, but still an interesting process.

 

thank you guys. i wasn't sure if the vet players on the PS were just a temporary thing they were doing like during the covid mess that changed so many things. this could be meaningful for a few players to be kept around.

 

Winner. It's hard to keep up with everything that seems to change from year to year.

 

I know the PS squad players DONT belong exclusively to the team that signed them. Any team can sign to their 53 roster from any teams PS making them eligible for snaps on gameday.
