Dumb take. Again P. Mannings stats are almost identical in post season, and yet You keep spouting this same nonsense.....it was all about Manning, and yet it was only the Defense for Ben. LoL it makes no freaking sense.

Tomlin over used Bell. In the first round they faced Miami and the backup QB. Yet Tomlin on the 3rd drive of the game gave the ball to Bell 10 times on a 10 play drive. Bell got hurt because Tomlin was too stupid to share the load. It was an easy 30-12 win.

I wasn't aware Tomlin was the OC and called the plays , back in the 70s and 80s RBs carried the ball 30-40 times a game.

There were these 2 guys that played defense for the Colts and some think they were pretty decent at rushing the passer. One was named Freeney and the other Mathis...

IDK, what do you guys think? I'll defer.

What did you guys think of Bob Sanders?

On offense the Colts had an ok maybe group around P. Manning. Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison were good I guess. Dallas Clark contributed here and there. The running game had Rhodes and Addai, and James before that.

Yes, this is meant to be sarcastic.

Point here being, no QB is an island. Every successful QB had a team around him that was responsible for most of his success in the NFL. Ben didn't win anything on his own. Peyton nor Eli won their SBs without a team effort.

Nobody does it by themselves. Just like 11 men on defense can't win anything unless the offense scores at least some points.

A quarterback struggles to do anything if the offensive line is terrible.

    It's the ultimate team sport.

11 guys on offense must be on the same page to make a play work. That’s the level of difficulty, that’s how simple it is. It takes the QB, the offenses leader, to get those 11 on the same page.

I hope KP is that leader now. Just as Ben was.

In theory this is correct however QB play is the one area that can overcome a teams weakness. Great QBs can get rid of the ball quickly to compensate for a weak OL. Great QBs like Brady and Mahomes can also make average WRs look great because of ball placement and reading a defense.

I guess you could argue superb RBs and WRs as well. Barry Sanders team may have stunk but he could single handily makes guys miss on broken down blocking for huge gains. Randy Moss could simply have Hail Marys thrown his way into double coverage and still come down with the catch more often than not.

Individual efforts still matter when a play brakes down not every player executes the script on a given play call. These players as an example of pretty much doing it themselves quite often.

As for the Ben debate if KP is 1/3 of BB I would be ecstatic. I think many on here think KP is some lock to be this stud franchise QB which I find odd based on his statistics from last season. MC gets a lot of the blame for play calling and design but this kid hasn’t proven anything besides two late game drives. Kenny looks to be putting the work in however which you like to see. I hope he can take a big step forward this season.

I understand exactly what you're saying. Great players can rise above the play of others to make plays in moments of games even without great execution around them. If ever there was a guy like that, it was Ben being able to extend plays and create something from nothing.

I hope you get what I'm saying too. If the offensive line allows a jailbreak on every offensive play, no quarterback can succeed consistently under those conditions.

Aaron Donald is a dominant player that has played on some very average at best defenses. TJ Watt is a game wrecker, but he can't cover anybody while he's rushing the passer.

Nobody does it alone. The great players are just able to do more with less around them but great quarterbacks do have the ability to impact on the games more than any other player. I don't think that is arguable.

Don’t sell yourself short. Even TB12 is amazed by a man who has spanned multiple centuries.

That's not what I was saying at all.
Tomlin ran the wheels off Bell, as promised, in the Miami game. Bell came into the NE game compromised. Tomlin lied about it, Bell snitched.

I haven't followed the conflict in this thread closely, reading thru the posts feels like jury duty.

    Good luck.
    I didn't make the cut.
When I met the judge I told him I stayed out of trouble my whole life so I wouldn't have to sit in court. He released me.

My case was a bad check writer who was guilty of first degree stupidity no matter what. I don't know if he was found guilty, I've never even thought about it.
