IMAX Theaters

I have another post where someone saw Oppenheimer at an IMAX theatre

The two closest to me are Philadelphia and Toronto

In Pittsburgh the only one I know of is at the science center showing volcanos and whales

Are IMAX movie theatres just in very large metropolitan areas

 

I don't know . I have never been to one, and where I live now ... Arkansas only has two that I know of. I stopped going to theaters . 2015 was the last time I actually went to a theater, and up till 2018... I only lived a few blocks away.

 

Philly and then way north to Toronto. I would thing New York is closer to you then Toronto and they got to have an IMAX thingy.

 

Actually I’m closer to Toronto than Phili and New York is farther

Wow!!! That's longer than for Me ....unless You mean the 2020 Borat.

 

You are going to open up a can of worms, as the old school Die Hard 70mm Imax fans will drag you down. They hate the new FAKE Digital IMAX theaters.

You would think everyone would have converted to Digital by now for all movies.

When this article was originally published in 2011, 342 of the 430 U.S. IMAX Theaters were Digital. That meant only 88 screens were real 70mm IMAX. And many of those screens were attached to museums, and didn't show Hollywood movie releases. The "Dark Knight Rises" prologue was only available on 42 of those 88 screens.
