He ran through a tackle by Muse on this one.

Let's see him do it in a preseason game. If he can legitimately add fullback to his resume, I don't hate it. I just don't think he can make it as just a lineman.

According to Tomlin, this idea started last season when they used Green to simulate Ricard in preparation for a game against the Ravens.

It’s a small sampling but he looks like he can actually catch the ball out of the backfield

The Fridge even caught one pass

I, for one, am completely rooting for this to happen. This guy has had a rough go of it and, deservedly, has been drug through the mud around here. He's a pretty athletic guy and if he's got the determination, this could be a pretty cool story.

At least Mike Tomlin is trying to redeem himself for the tremendous disservice he has done to Kendrick Green. Again, I had figured that Green could be a quality Center... provided he sat given his lack of experience; four games or so total. Given how Pittsburgh literally had no other Center based option available to them during the 2021 Season, both Tomlin and Colbert set up Green for failure.... or tried too.

If there is one aspect all of us can agree on Kendrick Green... dude is resilient as all hell. How many players would have thrown in the towel after having two horrific seasons to start their career; start one year horribly and be benched the next?! While his spot on the Final 53 still is not assured, versatility like this is what will give Kendrick an opening towards making it. I still believe he does have a role to play in the NFL. Should it be Fullback.... all the better...

I think the disservice has come from the ill informed fans mostly

Plus $4,875,767 can help soften the trials and tribulations

But we all (or most) would rather do well

    Agreed.

Pittsburgh not having a reliable Veteran Center in place beforehand doomed Green from the start. Hell, Green was as green as one could get playing arguably the most important position on the Offensive Line. Mind you I did state important... not value. Left Tackle's value trumps a Centers.

Center's though carry far more importance for there is a lot for a Center to manage in addition to blocking. So long as a team has a rock solid Left Tackle... the job can get done. Finding an elite Center?!.... Pfft... tough as hell.

Total gimmick here... no team keeps 2 fb's on their roster and Connor Heyward has that locked down already... he's auditioning for other teams because he has no NFL future as a lineman

    True.

Most fans merely look at these players coming out on the surface level and only that. Some will dig deeper into that prospect but only so much. If scouting were that simple.

A helluva lot of work must be done just to scout one person; all the more reason NFL Teams have lots of scouts.

Is that really Conner Heyward's main role though in the Offense?! Conner provides so much more in so many other positions; Tight End, Running Back and the aforementioned Fullback. Realistically, Conner Heyward is an OPW (Offensive Personnel Weapon) and should be used for a multitude of situations; not just being limited to one.

Now, does all this said mean I believe Kendrick Green can make the Final 53?! I do not. I do hope though that Green shows enough to force Tomlin to give it some consideration.

Let’s toss in the fact Green was a guard in college asked to switch positions and asked to start in the NFL

    And yet he’s written off

Maybe he isn’t NFL caliber but he most definitely was never given a fair shot

One of the few massive blunders from Kevin Colbert. Dude could draft but man oh man the handling of Kendrick Green.... oof.

Just a thought but once they are drafted is it still on the GM how they are used or is that on coaching

    Org. as a whole.

Tomlin, Rooney and Adrian Klemm all need to take heat for that one. I listed Colbert there as he was the longest tenured among the four; AR 2 taking control in 2003 and Adrian Klemm.... well...

The Steelers made a good move with Green going to FB. He's 6'2" 305 lbs and runs a 4.89 forty, you find a place on the team for a guy that big and quick.

You find a way to use the best athletes who can play the game

I’m not saying Green is one of those
