That's never a good situation. Hopefully he gets some oxygen, gets checked out and he's ok.

It sounds like some of the Steelers are having trouble with the heat, which is understandable. Glad Leal is okay. The breathing issue is concerning, but hopefully, it is just the heat.

I am also concerned about Kazee being hurt again.

Tomlin said “We don’t think it’s significant" - so hopefully he is fine

The heat, especially when doing activities (even when you are in tremendous shape) can do strange things to ones system. I am not in tremendous shape lol, but whatever is in the air is giving me fits. Have not had these reactions for decades.

The good thing is next week is going to be cooler. Highs in the 70's and lows in the mid 50's at night.

God I wish that was here. Hit 110 today, and the coolest part of tonight from the forecast will be 4am ....it will be 80 right before it starts Amping up again for more heat.

The bike ride across Iowa had people dropping like flies this week. Everybody handles the heat differently and sometimes you just can't hydrate enough for physical activities like that. Especially trying to push grown ass men around.

Is the heat just different, is Tomlin working them harder than usual or is it guys not conditioning themselves good enough in the off-season? Low 90s/humidity is rather typical this time of the year and I don't recall this many heat related issues with players in the past. But when I lived back home I didn't follow everything on my phone, just watched the evening news and it may have happened in the past just not talked about.

Leal came from College Station, Texas. July and August average around 100 degrees there. Thus, they have one of the largest indoor practice facilities in all of college football. Heat is a real thing. I seem to post something about this every year somewhere, but if it gets to 100 degrees on a grass field, it is about 150 degrees on a turf field. People tolerate heat differently. Not always about conditioning and hydration although those things are important.

they have 3 grass fields and one turf field at st. vincent. yes those turf fields get extremely hot. we used to take temps and wouldn't allow players on it when the field temp got to around 120. the humidity adds to that. it can feel like an oven.

Believe it or not, it can actually be a cumulative thing. You’re fine for a few days in excessive heat and then boom

Spoke too soon I am afraid.

Not disagreeing with you but Kazees injury history is simply too consistent for him to do so I am afraid.

    2021; twice.

One injury to his hip and another to his thigh. Those injuries by themselves are not my problem. His age + those injuries are. The body does not heal as well at 30 as it did when one was 21-23.

The year in Dallas where he played in all 17 games and started 15?

This is football, everybody’s nicked up. I thought “injuries” were reserved conditions that cause guys to miss time. If you’re on the field playing then you’re not injured.

Yeah that sounds awesome. That's what I tried explaining to people up north. They would say well it got 92 today so it's not that different. I'd tell them the difference is it doesn't drop at night to 60s then build back up so that the time it hits 92 its already dropping again.... It drops to 80s, and the by the time the sun hits its already peaking again with no cool off.
