Sure thing skippy. You just stated above that you pointed out the Haley situation!

We're in a thread about Canada. Ben played in Canada's system. But somehow you don't think I should be mentioning Ben in this thread. As if anything Ben did in Canada's system is irrelevant. I tried to engage in a conversation. I even asked you your opinion on a link to an article I posted about Kenny Pickett and calling plays, but instead of just talking to me, you simply say the article doesn't say what I think it says. You only say what you want to say and block out everything else. You escalated the whole thing by dismissing me instead of talking to me.

The only thing that proves a point with you is listening to yourself talk.

Stop trying to act like the last word on everything. You'd have some credibility if you would actually have a conversation with someone instead of talking down to everyone. You don't know as much as you want everyone to think you do.

MOF has been a barren wasteland for several seasons now but I thought they were starting to attack in more towards the end of last season.

my guess is that is due to a ROOK QB. attack the ENTIRE field.

my HOPE is it gets BETTER this year....if not, we will be in last place in our division.

Isn’t it easier to throw a pass to the middle rather than asking a rookie to try to hit the sidelines

Jerry Rice did not run out patterns

Matters against what D. Also lanes get clogged up in the middle....,and some Qbs just don't read the middle of the field well wit depth of defense. Example: Kordell.....He threw pretty well one on ones on the sidelines, but I about $hit My pants everytime He went to the middle of the field....., or how about Trubisky last year. I held My breath when He went to the middle of the field because He loses sight of coverage. Now I don't know yet about KFP, but I hope it's not the same.

The steelers did not have a single 400 offensive yards game in 35 games under Matt Canada!

Not a good idea to think only about the red zone issues by this offense since they have way more problem than that!

the last two season have been affected by the o-line and the QB's far more than the play calling. the play calling has been to protect the o-line and the QB's.

weidl has done something about the o-line. he has fixed one of our greatest problems.

people need to realize that this has been a rebuild right under their nose.

ben was done. the offense was being built but was still very young and still is. yes we brought in a couple of parts in cole and daniels. we still had a rookie LT, center green and chuks that was trying to improve but were way outclassed as we have seen. dotson was injured most of his second season. we then found he wasn't quite good enough. chuks improved slightly every year so far but he's still not one of the best at his position. we had one of the worst o-line coaches ever and he didn't complete the season.

fast forward to an old immobile qb, to one that hadn't started in a couple of years with little success when he did. then we add a rookie qb. i don't care who the OC is, he was put into a bad situation for immediate success.

as we have built the offense back up, success should follow. everybody expects immediate success from these young players and it just isn't that fast of a process. that's what it is, a process and it is one going in the right direction. give it time to unfold. we have players in place and coaches in place finally. now should be a truer test of what this team can be and quit worrying about what canada did in the past when his hands were tied so badly.

our front office has built around what were our strengths. the young players that were added are coming into their own. when you change a whole room on defense, including the coach, the eyes from outside the organization has seen something without the feelings of loyalty to anyone that was here. olsavsky, bush, jack, or anyone else in that room.

similar to the o-line. we finally brought in an outsider as coach that has taken what was good with the o-line and they have given him the tools to improve it. same with the receiving corp. taken away what wasn't good enough and added to what was good enough.

weidl and omar have even added to canada with glenn thomas. everything they have done has strengthened the good parts to make them even better, on both sides of the ball. some was done with addition and some has been done by subtraction. be patient and let the process play out.

You are right that the steelers had several other problem on offense but now no more excuse for Canada in 2023.This offense can't be in the bottom 10 again

The biggest red flag for Canada is how our offense is much better when they were in the 2 minute offense or hurry up in the fourth quarter when the QB had more control of the offense and the Canada had much less.... And that is regardless of the QB.

Just in 2021, the Steelers had scored 49% of their points in the fourth quarter which was an NFL record and they also had 7 comeback wins

We can not ignore that Matt Canada is a major concern for the steelers

It was not the one of Canada when it was Ben!

I know all the teams look great and much better in July but say what you want about Canada, but it's such a major concern...The biggest concern for the steelers this year

so I guess Ben waited every game until the last 2 minutes to run what he liked. You can't really believe that. Of course Ben did that with most OCs. They had to adjust to what Ben liked. Ben wasn't even Ben the last 3 years he played. A franchise QB has a lot more say so. It's still the plays from the offense the OC put in or every other player on the field would be confused. An OC has to adjust to the talent he has, which can limit a lot of what he does and the team does.

True that Ben was washed out in 2021, but in the fourth quarter, when Ben had a bigger say in the play calling, the offense was much better

Also true that the offense was not the best on paper, especially in 2021 with an old washed QB but when you look at last year, when the longest TD after 9 games was 8 yards, it was ridiculous!

Yes it was better in the second half of last season, but games against the poor raiders defense, the steelers had only 6 points after 58 minutes....If Canada is not able to have a competent offense in 2023, I will be very critical of the steelers for keeping him, unless Kenny Pickett lacks too many open receivers, makes bad reading, etc, it will be more on Kenny

But if the scheme in the passing game of Canada are not better,I will be very hot on Canada!

Same here for Mitch and the MOF.

Except I simply elected to say "well... either an incompletion, a batted pass or an INT... one or the other.." :lolol:

Hence why I have been saying this is put up or shut up time for Canada. Pickett is not immune to this either. Both have to succeed for both are out of excuses.

The likes of CAIII and Allen Robinson can assist with that. Best to have a Slot WR attack those portions of the field alongside with a Tight End. Even better is with a Tight End like Pat Freiermuth, you have even more leeway to do so.

All this said, Kenny needs to continue to improve in this area whereas Canada must implement plays to ensure that he can place his Offensive Weapons into winnable situations.

Austin lost for the season, claypool traded and Pickens a rookie didn't bode well for a lot of mof routes. DJ, well that's just not his strength either. We do now.
