Two halves don’t equal a whole

It’s not like you can put one in on passing plays and the other in on running plays

One or the other needs to step up and be a complete package

 

Right now Steelers rookie Washington has to beat out Gentry for the #2 TE spot. No offense, but I have seen Gentry catch the ball in an NFL game, I haven't seen what kind of hands Washington is bringing to the field.

It is funny how close all 3 TEs are on this list; all within 5 spots of each other.

 

We ran a fair amount of 12 personnel last year and fully expect it to go up this year. Assuming they really plan on playing bully ball

If I understand your question....It's not enough. I'm just going by History . Most Qbs will not win or go to a SB, with the team that drafted them....if they haven't went by their 5th year.

Based on your logic, the Bills should have moved on from Josh Allen already.

 

I don't see how that can't happen more this year. They are moving in that direction with the personnel moves and adding a potentially dominant blocking TE. It just makes sense that they use more 2 TE sets.

 

I agree. My point is there has to be progression of success by the organization. Noll went from 1-13 to 10-3-1 and a championship in five years, then maintained for another 5 years, and got them back to an AFCCG within the third five years, but the last 7 years were nothing special. Cowher had a SB appearance in his 1st 5 years, AFCCG in his next 5 years, and a championship in his next 5 years. Tomlin has 2 SB appearances in his 1st five years, an AFCCG appearance in the next 5, but no significant playoff wins in the past 6 seasons. The Steelers should know what they have in Pickett by the 4th year, but it needs to include a playoff appearance this year, and playoff win(s) by next year.

 

And for guys like us school was so much easier back then cause history wasn't a subject yet.

 

Still waiting to see what kind of contract Joe signs. I am guessing around $500 million for 10 years with $250 million guaranteed.

Will he begin training camp holding out? He said he expects a new contract this year, so there will be no 5th year option.

I think Burrow would be smart to sign a few years early as I think the NFL is going to put in a Max Player Value with the next Salary Cap rollout. This would make it so a player on a team could sign for a maximum percentage of the yearly Salary Cap.

I'm not sure he does fit at all. They have Muth. They drafted Washington, so you know he's not going anywhere. And they have Conner Heyward. They released Watt at fullback, and they may think Heyward is able to be the third TE and have him in a fullback/H-back sort of role. If he can do that it will free up a roster spot at another position.

Right now I would say Gentry is probably the least likely to be on the team.
