Sucks to be a RB right now.

Going to be curious to see if Najee gets a 5th year option. If Najee doesn't break the 4.0 yards per carry barrier in 2023, I think the Steelers should pass on picking up his 5th year option.

Well maybe. Barkley's 5th year option last year was $7 million and his franchise tag this year is worth $10 million. So, the Steelers may save around $3 million with a 5th year tender if they go that route.

Question does the price of the Franchise Tag increase or Decrease with every player signing?

The tag is based on the Top 5 players, so if Barkley signs 1st and becomes the highest paid running back in the NFL would the franchise Tag Price go up, because the average for the top 5 just increased, if Jacobs signs after Barkely?

Unless Najee sucks this year....it would be stupid not to pick up the 5th year.

If Barkley and Jacobs aren't getting big deals and even Tony Pollard has to play for the tag, no RB is getting signed to a big contract anytime soon.

It's a different game now. That said, if you are able to pound the ball, then you are able to control the game, time of possesion, and keeping the other teams offense on the bench. That means winning games IMO. I hope these guys get paid what they're worth.

No worries here.... Najee has nothing to complain about unlike most other runners in the league..... the Steelers have proven time and again that they will pay handsomely for elite players.... they were going to make Leveon bell the highest paid rb in the league before he diva'd his way off the team over guaranteed money and destroyed his career.
If Najee produces elite numbers, he will get elite money
