why not have one for the 4th? we are just going simple and to the point burgers and dogs. brats, taters sliced with bacon and butter in foil thrown on the grill. < quite good actually. key lime pie. cole slaw. baked beans. Mmmmm.

 

Not a thing! We're going to an outdoor BBQ. Great smoked meat and my favorite burnt hot dogs!!!!!!

 

i like mine burnt too when on the grill. very simple too just mustard and kepuch. once in awhile i like it simple. baked beans with just some bacon and brown sugar added. i got the brats in patties from an amish meat store. no links this time.

 

I had all my 4th company over the weekend so it’s low key today

But I’m going to drink a British beer or two just on principal

Pork chops, fried chicken livers, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens, cornbread, candied yams, peach cobbler, banana pudding…

 

man I love fried chicken livers

 

I do also....well the ones I don't use catching catfish.

 

Ok, they added potato salad, corn on the cob, mac and cheese, pretzel desert, Apple cobbler and deviled eggs. So much for simple.

My wife likes burnt hot dogs

Personally I like them steaming and juicy just like women

 

I use dough balls for cat fish

 

with a splash of anise

I had fish and chips and took a shytt on the neighbors lawn

 

That also works(I do also), but somethings don't work always. So good to have more things for use. Also different types of catfish like different things at different times of the year.

Some people in Harrisburg fish for catfish in the Susquehanna river in Harrisburg. I do not. It was once a very polluted river and all those heavy metals and things are still on the bottom. So I don't fish there. Lake Arthur is my favorite catfish lake. I got there maybe 4 times a year. Never fail to come away with a good catch.

 

I remember driving on the roads through lake Arthur before it was a lake before they built the dam on Muddy Creek

 

Same with Ogden River in Chicago. I caught lots of fish there, but I wouldn't eat any of it. I had a cop come ask Me what I was doing there once....as I had 4 poles, one in My hand, and a tackle box by My side. ..LoL. I wanted to ask Him what it looked like I was doing, but I wasn't raised that way. Anyway I told Him fishing....He said there is no fish in there, and then I held up My stringer, and showed Him what I already caught(not to eat ,but to take a picture of).......I proceeded to tell Him I could catch fish out of a mud puddle....so I would catch fish anywhere.....He decided He heard enough of My bull$hit, and left. LoL
