If we have one weakness on this defense, I believe it's ILB..... We have run stuffers, but none of them inspire much confidence in me when it comes to coverage duties

Kazee can do some of the things Clark did. He can be that last line of defense. He can come up and make a big hit despite his lack of size. I'm not sure he is as durable.

Fitzpatrick, however, is not Polamalu. The latter was in the box a lot more. The Steelers are usually better when Fitzpatrick is deep. If they want a safety in the box when Kazee is out there with Fitzpatrick, neither option is ideal. Kazee is very small for the role. Fitzpatrick is certainly capable, but it takes him out of the deep safety role where he excels.

I thought on passing downs Neal or muse would be perfect fits in that 3rd safety/LB role. I think that was the plan anyway. 3 safety look. One of those 3 able to play in the box and for short area coverage of TEs and RBs. Neal and muse are perfect for that role. Holcomb is not a slouch either in coverage.

Sounds good, but I have seen none of them actually do it here Yet, but it does sound reasonable.

And they don't need anymore old farts :hehehe:, I wasn't that excited about them signing 33 year old Peterson either.

Agreed. Now Peterson 6 years ago is a whole different story.....Although He should be able to teach a whole $hitload to the CBs on the team that really want to learn.

I don't know if it's the Weidl effect of not but so far to me sort of reading the tea leaves of what they are doing but they seem to have made a plan and have gone out and got the players that will make those plans work.

Offense leaning on running the ball, protecting kfp and giving him good option to work off the run in the passing game.

On defense it was get younger up front to help the older starters last longer, upgrade the ilb room, add to the defensive backfield and make the defense package flexible.

I'm extremely impressed with what they have accomplished so far. Seems like we have added guys that alone may not be all stars but each one helps with what they are good at, but also helps guys that are good at certain things be able to do those things which makes us better overall.

Wasn't Peterson 32 last year and performed great for the vikings?
