I want to be optimistic about this season, but soooooo many new parts it almost feels like an expansion team.

Maybe Tomlin’s greatest attribute is getting players to buy in. Hopefully he can make this crew gel fast to become a band of brothers team. Let’s hope because that is what’s needed. I would expect with all these new players that everyone’s attention will be at 100% focus on learning their expected duties, but it might might take a full season for the comfort level and camaraderie to fully take shape and work as a cohesive unit.

It may or may not show in the win/loss column this year, but I have been and feel even more sure that not this season but 2024 will be us truly threatening for a Super Bowl.

So much rides on KFP becoming a top notch great point guard and the scheme being a winning formula.

we have 3 open roster spots so there will be 3 additions. We always have 4 quarterbacks to start the offseason so one is pretty much a given. It’s just a matter of who. I would be shocked if another offensive tackle isn’t added. Same with OLB

They haven’t signed him yet. Just invited him to rookie minicamp. If I remember correctly the colts invited him to rookie minicamp as well. I read about him yesterday and has an interesting story. He was a 5 star recruit coming out of high school and committed to Clemson. That was the same year Trevor Lawrence showed up. He spent two years there and then transferred to northwestern where he played 3 years. Because of Covid he was given a 6th year and returned to Clemson to mentor their younger quarterbacks. He had 6 different offensive coordinators throughout his career. That is one sure fire way to ruin a highly touted prospect.

Outside of the front 5 (DL/Edge) and Minkah this is practically a new defense. Even if these new guys are better than the previous group, it's going to take time to get the unit to get and develop chemistry. Even if Kenny makes a leap and this offense averages 24 ppg, I just find 11/12 wins as a long shot. Definitely not impossible, just a tough task. I expect something like a 3-5 start before this defense starts really clicking.

I'm hoping we can up the ppg average even to 20-22 points per game but increase our time of possession by a good bit. Not trying to outscore teams in a score fest but keep them on the sidelines for more of the game. Put the pressure on their offense and not ours. Make them uncomfortable in having to score with less plays to do so and make them push and create mistakes.

The one name I have not heard much to anything about is Quincy Roche. i know he has bounced around, but before I saw your post I did check and he is still listed as being on the roster. One of those guys who seems to have the talent, but it just has not generated at this level. Maybe it never will, but still holding hope the lights come on.

I won't even try to guess, so many NFL games are with that 3 point range. Last year Minnesota won a lot of those games, we did as well (15 or 16) had a great year, the next year we lost a lot of those close games. When you face teams who can move down the field in 30 seconds and get that FG is where the heartburn starts, lol. I really like what I think they are trying to build, at the least I think they are going to be competitive and play a very hard nosed game.

Every team has more roster turnover year to year than they used to. Life in the NFL these days. If the players are good, and are able to understand their assignments, they’ll be cohesive quickly enough.
