QBs Cam Newton is willing to back up

So now Cam Newton has shared his list of QBs he is willing to backup in 2023. I’m noticing a common trait among the first 9,… hmmm…


12 QBs that the former MVP would be willing to take a backup job to:

• Deshaun Watson
• Lamar Jackson
• Justin Fields
• Tua Tagovailoa
• Malik Willis
• C.J. Stroud
• Bryce Young
• Anthony Richardson
• Jalen Hurts
• Aaron Rodgers
• Josh Allen
• Sam Howell

 

I don't think Newton brings anything to the table as a backup. Hard PASS for me.

 

Why would stroud get injured?

 

Funny that Patrick Mahomes did not make his list. The backup KC job would be a pretty sweet ride for Cam Newton.

 

Because if Pat Mahomes got hurt....it would really really show how little Cam knows about reading a D, and playing the Qb position in comparison.

 

Will Levis will likely be a rookie starter as well. I don't think it was just cause their rookies.

 

He knows he has a below zero chance of ever starting unless pat got hurt. Mahomes has the most secure job in all of football

 

Cam doesn't want to backup Kenny Pickett, because he has flash backs to the 60 minutes of play commercial. "I'll grow big and strong like you, Get drafted number 1 (first round by the Steelers),... You can be my backup,... Panther fans will forget about you,... I'll become your mom's favorite player.,,, I'm just loosening up my arm."

 

He may help a young guy out, he may be content preparing each week for a call that may never come..but I highly doubt it. He stated a couple of weeks ago there are not 32 Qbs better than he is, so ego is still driving him Until and unless he can except the BU status for what it is, he is a possible cancer ready to explode in the locker room and beyond. No thanks.

 

He expects they get hurt at least a few games each year. Plenty of guys out there keep saying Allen can't keep playing the way he plays and not get injured.

 

With Cam, his hats and head scarfs at the press conferences could be entertaining

Exactly! I guess Cam wants to be a 3rd string QB. I understand the Titans' coaching staff has commented they are confident in Malik's progression in the off-season, but IMO I still don't think he is a starting QB.
