This. No way I trade DJ now. That would leave Pickens and a bunch of question marks.

Oh so ....He may have had one td. LoL.
Is Trubisky Your brother. LoL. Just face it....Trubisky is not good, and it has nothing to do with weapons. It's ok to admit it.
DJ goes ....5tds, 7tds,and 8tds.....He ....it seems is getting better every year....then a change of Qbs.....0tds. Yeah it was all DJ. Nobody is saying none of it was on Him, but I would say a bigger part was on the Qbs.
    Also...don't go taking this personally....

i just saw a scenario written about just that. trading him and one of our picks at either 32 or 49 to move up to pick 12 with the texans. i sure hope not. maybe straight up and a 7th. that is giving up way too much for a chance at a pick. smith-njigbo? addison? a tackle? i'm not really on board with this. these 2nd round picks and where they are could net us a lot of player and all we would be doing is swapping one position to lesson another. they were talking about DJ not being happy with canada's system and him not wanting to use as many WR's, so before that problem started get rid of DJ. of course that could even mean mayer would be in play. i don't see this happening.

Nonsense. They are nothing alike. Mercole Hardman is a speed merchant. DJ is a route running marvel with sometimes suspect hands. They couldn't be more different.

That would be a terrible idea. We should not trade up. I'd a Left Tackle makes it to 17, great. If not, pick a corner or one of the Right tackles.

For my money, the 2 best tackles in the draft are Right tackles. Darnell Wright and Dawand Jones. They just aren't Left tackles. I have no interest in trading up for a decent LT.

i agree. i'm not that big on us getting another LT right now. i think moore will continue to improve. we could get a swing tackle later in this draft that wouldn't have to play right away. there are some pretty good linemen later in this thing. this would open up a hole in the offense and filling it with a player that could start but you already have that role filled. do we really expect that much of an upgrade when you are really downsizing another important position just for depth? naw.

Agree, terrible idea and terrible article really. Lot of assumptions in there passed off as fact.

I don’t see that happening. Don’t see them leaving themselves thin at WR and don’t think they are as hard up for a left tackle as this writer thinks.

If anything, this is the draft to trade back.

I think he was probably out but it was a great effort by DJ. He had to go full extension to catch that ball, not much he could do with that first leg mid air full stride when you are still trying to catch the ball. Good concentration to get the back leg down.

Game of inches, just ran out of real estate.

Again...backs up My Qb makes Wrs thing 97% of the time.
Mecloe played with the best Qb in the league last year.
DJ didn't. I'm not defending DJ....You know this.

They compliment each other. QB’s are more important of the two but they aren’t going to make scrub WR’s into superstars.

Mecole had a whopping 4 TD’s last season with Mahomes as his QB. Hell, DJ didn’t have any and still has more career TD’s than him.

But yes, to support your point, obviously there is a big drop off from Ben to Pickett. Pickett only threw 7 TD’s. Overall I feel good about Pickett but that number has to go way up this year. Then so will DJ’s and everyone else's TD total.

I only know of one WR to put up great numbers no matter who is throwing to him, DHop. That guy is incredible.

And He got caught with PEDs.
No if You suck No Qb will make You great, but a terrible Qb will make a great Wr bad, and a Great Qb will make a average Wr look good.
It's really simple. Think of all the HOF Qbs... most of them never had to trade for already made Wrs....their teams just drafted Wrs, and they made them work.

I think we more or less agree.

Mecole just looked average with the best QB in the league throwing to him, whats he going to do without him.

Pretty much sums it up. The route running is apparent, his hands (when looking at stats) are really not that bad..its just when the drops do happen they extenuate into him being being less reliable. The thing that bothers me (on video) more is the issue of running back towards the line of scrimmage...both before and after a catch. Those moves at a lower level may have worked, at this level its just giving up yards, first downs, and momentum.
