Anyone can vote no matter if you're in on the mock or not. One vote per person. Be sure of your vote before casting it, votes are final. The player with the most votes wins. Also as with previous years...no trades will be allowed involving the Steelers.

    Thats pretty much it, simple!

7 picks until the Steelers pick. I see about 12 possibilities. My hope is people will not start throwing out names until the Steelers are on the clock. From doing these drafts in the past, I would like to see the following:

    1. A poster nominates a player, but that player cannot be voted on without a second nomination.
    2. When nominating a player, the poster gives reasons why he nominated that player.
    3. After 24 hours, those players that have two nominations are put up for a vote.
    4. During the next 24 hours voting takes place, and the player with the most votes is selected.
    5. If there is a tie, then a re-vote is cast between the tied players.

This is more complicated then how we have done it in the past, but it streamlines everything.

    Thoughts?

Hmmm I’m not really feeling that. Little convoluted. Why do it like that?

Sounds like it is taking away peoples vote, too. Everyone’s vote should count whether it obtains enough other votes or not.

It also eats up 2 days. And then if a tie, even longer. I think we usually do 24 hours for Steeler picks.

Sorry man. I'm not feeling you on this one. I feel like making the Steelers selections has been pretty fair in the past. There is almost always solid debate that goes on. I usually throw names out there that I think the Steelers may have interest in just to remind people who is still out there.

I am torn between him or Devon Witherspoon. So I will nominate Witherspoon.

Duly noted. With about 5 possible players being candidates for the pick, 4 or 5 votes out of 20 may be the pick.

Anyone else have an aversion to drafting players that played at Illinois - Mendenhall, Kendrick Green, Cap Boso, Walt Kerulis?

I like the idea of building up the Dline, and I think the Steelers feel the same way with Weidl, but I dont trust Bresee and his lack of production at pick 17.

Is Van Ness an OLB or DLINE for us? Either way, I'm not sure I like him at 17 either.

Whats your finally analysis of him? I know you were weary of him being handsy.

Well, for me these days final analysis is a lot less watching than I used to do. I’m swung in his direction by watching how often he sticks to good receivers in press coverage when he’s not being handsy. I watched OSU matchups a few times. He’s not perfect, and not ready to be on an island yet, but corners with his length, speed and proven ability to press are rare. He needs to have some of the handsiness coached out of him, but I think it will happen.
