Finally a thread after my own heart. Apparently others as well as it's already 17 pages in before I even saw it. Personally, I am a big IPA guy. My everyday beer is Founders All Day IPA. I like West Coast style more than East Coast but I will drink any of them. One of the tops on my list would be Elysian space dust. It's an 8% beer so it's pretty big but it's quite tasty as long as you're into that style of beer.
The wife just brought home a sampler pack from New Glarus and I don't mind their beers but they are more of a pale ale than an IPA. Still a decent beer.
I like Yeungling but the discussion has always been, would I like it as much if I could get it regularly in this area. Same thing with spotted cow which you can only get in Wisconsin.
Not much of a Guinness fan or stouts in general but don't mind the really big ones aged in bourbon barrels. Quite nice on a cold day. I will have one single Guinness on Saint Patrick's day for affect.

This is the time of year for me and Stout.

this beer is made by a micro brewery in the Harrisburg area. It's my favorite beer around Christmas time. Usually they only produce it around the holidays. Mad Elf.

Why are the cases made now a days that the beer falls out the bottom easier than it is to open on top?

Do you believe in the "Cold --> Hot --> Cold" Skunky Beer Theory?

And is this why you don't buy beer from a grocery store. Now that there is no such thing as a 3.2% beer thing with Grocery Store Beer.

Is Beer stored in the back Warm at a grocery store?

That is a thing but for most domestic beers it's not a huge deal unless you're letting your case of beer sit in a hot ass car all day long.
Here's a couple of other nuggets: quality beers are bottled in dark colored bottles so the light doesn't affect the beer causing UV skunkiness. The clear bottle is only one reason beers like Corona suck. Of course the bottle may be treated with UV protection but that doesn't change the fact that the beer sucks all the same. Either way, don't store your unrefrigerated bottles of beer in the light.

Another one, and this one drives me f**king nuts, is when beer is served in a frosted glass or mug. This might be generally all right for your macro brewers like Budweiser, Busch light, etc but for craft beers it's a huge no-no. Not only does it cause beer to foam and lose its carbonation, it stalls the molecules and kills the taste of a good craft beer.

And finally, to dispel rumors, they do not drink their beer warm in Europe. At least nowhere that I have been. All of the Scandinavian countries, plus the parts of Germany I was in served their beer cold. I would imagine there are still places that serve their beer at room temperature and I know some stouts are better served at a warmer temperature.

Some beers are definitely better really cold. Some, not so much.

I told my date it was free beer

My date told me it was cold beer and that I was a moron
