The hate for the Ravens wasn't too high by the Steelers fan base in 2000.

The NFL didn't realign conferences until 2002.

So we still had like Jacksonville and Tennessee in the Central. Two who seemed to really have our numbers in 1998-2000

We kind of looked at them as the old Browns and look they moved to Baltimore and within 4 years won the Super Bowl.
Cleveland had just got back their team in 1999.

Plus Steelers weren't very wonderful themselves in 98-2000.

But in the mid 2000's to current. The Steelers and Ravens rivalry may have been the best in football during that time period of the last 18 years.

To me, the Ravens Steelers Rivalry started when Eric Green was on the Ravens and started jawing at the sideline at Cowher, I think they got a win at home over the Steelers that day.

Also they went out and bought a top tier defense in 2000 ... Tony Siragusa and Sam Adams were two of the best interior defensive linemen in the entire NFL at the time, and they get Rod Woodson on top of that.

It really went down hill when Bozo the Clown snuck in the back door and started presenting it
