    The best I can get ya is an exclusive interview with the last remaining member of my stable, world-famous miniature donkey, Sammy The Burrow.

    IDK

    He should get credit for all of it

    Right now he should get credit for being a mediocre 8-8 and quite possibly another year without a playoff win

    You don't even know the guy's name, but he should be coach of the year?

    Daboll has done a great job with the Giants. I would have no problem with him being Coach of the Year. Shanahan does great work with the 49ers, too.

    Tomlin does have a great shot at the award if the Steelers make the playoffs.

    Spoken like someone determined to give the head coach all the blame when things go wrong, but none of the credit when they go right.

    I have never blamed the coach for bad play, nor do I give them credit for good play. When they are out on the field actually participating in the game with the players, then I will give them credit. The players are the ones who are performing. I give them the credit for wins and losses. I also don't agree with giving a QB all the credit for every win or loss, while he does have to throw the ball, the offensive line has to block for him, and the receivers have to make catches, sometimes in spite of the errant throw the QB made.. Their skills have nothing to do with the quarterback. And without those players performing well, the QB can't do a whole lot.

    The only statistical measure we can use to evaluate a coach is wins and losses. Based on your logic, it doesn't matter who coaches. We all know better.

    It is not the same thing as quarterbacks. No individual player should be judged on wins and losses. Luckily, we have other options open to us in evaluating a quarterback.

    I'm just saying you could have the best players in the world and a bad coach and still win games. You can also have the best coach in the league and very bad players and you're still not going to win games.

    I agree with this up to a point....., but I believe most coaches are egotistical. He does seem to want His fingers in all the pies.

    If you look at the world in general, there is a ton of people that are at the highest positions of what they do, that are egotistical. An example of this is, alot of surgeons. I've dealt with quite a few over the years. They come across as d!cks.. But maybe they wouldnt have made it to that position without being, atleast, some d!ckish.

    I think Tomlin has stepped back with getting involved on gameday calling the defense this year, it seems Austin is making all the calls.

    IMO it's Daboll easily over Tomlin even if we make Playoffs. I don't know if the schedule's make a difference among those who vote.

    A fast start then a fizzle out or a slow start, then an unleashing, then a fizzle out is still a fizzle out in the end.

    Agree on Daboll. Giants have been an absolute train wreck over the past 5 years.

    Fingers in many pies!

    But where it becomes a problem is he wont hire established coordinators because they wont tolerate being made a figure head.

    Tomlin should be involved with all phases of the game but he needs to know when to let his guys cook. If it’s even like that but the no frills hires makes me believe it is.

    I was trying to explain enthalpy at a school board construction meeting. I think I stopped mid sentence when I saw I had pretty much lost everyone.

    For the same reason that:

    2-6 -> "It's the Coach"
    6-2 -> "It's the players"

    That argument is made a lot more often here.

    I think objectively speaking the slow start is the players and coaches the same way the strong finish is on the players coaches. And scheduling also played its role. First half saw an offense with zero identity with guys like Harris obviously being hurt and TJ being out for that cluster of games. Mitch being a complete failure and Kenny being thrusted into the lineup with little to no first team reps didn't help either. Ideally Kenny should've been promoted after the bye week or sat this season. Some of that is on Canada and a lot is on Mitch. The string of easier games, after the bye, allowed the team and coaches to build an identity of tough downhill running. Harris getting healthy also helped in regard. It changed Kenny into a game manager instead of relying on him to throw 40ish times a game.

    Right now the Steelers biggest problem is the downfield passing game/splash plays on offense. If we can get that going next year and obviously stay relatively healthy this team could possibly challenge for the North. Beating Burrow is going to be tough though he appears to be an absolute stud.

    I agree. That aspect will come with better play from Pickett himself, and better play design from either Canada or new OC. And the team on defense has to find DB and DL help in the off-season to compete with Burrow. It all takes time. The rebuild is far from complete. Just hopefully Pickett makes a giant leap next year.
