My observations from the Baltimore beat down

1. Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren came to play..

2. Who's o-line was run blocking for us and what did they do with the real Steelers' line

3. Nice to see Pickett finally cutting loose on that td drive

4. Overall, the defense brought it

5. New players ....... Same knock down drag out Steelers/Ravens classic

6. Nice of the refs to finally call the Ravens o-line for holding, since they missed quite a few in the 1st 3 quarters

7. The penalty against Can Heyward that led to the Ravens td was total bs

8. With the way we ran the ball, one would think play action would be incorporated at least a little bit

9. Why Arthur Maulet keeps getting put in coverage situations is beyond me

10. Fo the most part, I liked what I saw from Mark Robinson

 

Also, it was the 1st touchdown allowed by the Ravens at home in four games

 

#8 the world also wonders.

#7 Cam cant shove the guy in the pile at the point. VEt has to know the situation!!

A Ravens player hooked his arm. He was shoving the guy off. After that, another rat pulled him down

 

Number 7. If you watch the replay of that pile a hand reaches up and grabs Heyward by the jersey and pulls him down. He had his hands out to his side doing nothing. It was complete BS

 

before that he shoved the guy under him but if it was because he was hooked I get it but gotta keep your cool!

 

Thank goodness the run game showed up tonight cause pass pro sucked. They got pushed around a lot on pass pro, especially Cole who was doing his best Kendrick Green impression getting steamrolled over and over again.

Boswell has become a concern again and no longer seems to be clutch.

Edmunds had 1 good play but a bunch of WTF plays that led to Andrews converting way too many 1st downs.

Snoop Huntley does not strike fear into the hearts of anyone.

 

I would think that whoever our OC is next year will make play action a staple of the offense and I believe Kenny will benefit greatly from that.

 

And there is an entire middle of the field that we are allowed to throw to.

 

Leal and Robinson and ogunjobi make me feel better about the d for the future. Need to sign ogunjobi. Amulet has played pretty well this year. We have some things to build on.

 

Najee Harris, Warren, Pickett’s constantly improving decision-making ability and the o-line. There’s your keys. They’re the reason we’ve won six of our last eight.

 

The Steelers outrushed the Ravens by over 70 yards, that doesn't happen very often.

 

Look at it again. They were pulling him down and putting him in a position where he could have gotten hurt. The officials absolutely blew that call. Heyward did nothing wrong, certainly nothing that warranted the penalty there.

 

I haven't been comfortable with Boz ever since his season from (unleash) hell a couple years ago.

 

I'm not sure what to think of the offensive line. They were damn impressive in the run game. Yes, Harris and Warren were great, but the blocking was there, too.

Cole had a rough night, but he has been good this season. They really do struggle in pass protection. The Ravens had way too many free rushers on Pickett tonight. Moore was beaten on the winning touchdown, too. Pickett just made a great play to escape.

The Steelers dominated the time of possession again. I know the Ravens were missing a couple of guys, but that was an incredible job running the ball. I do like them adding some plays with Harris and Warren on the field together. That may have been the first time they gave it to Warren on a jet sweep like that.

 

I have the last couple of seasons. He had been back to the old Bosworth, but man, this season has been rough. I wonder if he still isn't 100 percent. He just doesn't seem to be driving the ball like he used to, and that is why some of these field goals are drifting.

 

I hoped it was past him and maybe this season's shortcomings are unrelated. Kickers can be so squirrelly though. I brought up Kris Brown in a post earlier, similar deal if I remember right.

 

The right call on Cam's PF was one of two choices, neither of which the ref used. Either, matching PF's to Cam and whoever the Raven player that was pulling him by the jersey back into the pile or no call at all.

 

BTW, what was going on with the celebration penalty after Minka’s INT? Who’s the idiot not in uniform who joined in on the celebration? It didn’t impact the outcome but come on. Didn’t they learn after last week?

 

Not a defense of the missed kicks but wasn't weather a factor in a few of those as well as at least one being way outside of his longest.

 

It was Edmunds last week and I'm going to go out on a limb and say possibly Pierre after his injury.

 

Are we even sure it was a player?

 

No clue. I'll have to check the game recap and see if they show the excessive celebration.
