RED ZONE

We suck in the red zone. 2-3 opportunities and we blew. Last one we could have tied the game. Give Pickett the chance to throw it to the end zone to Pickens or Johnson. This issue has been around awhile for this team.

To be honest I don't think he was looking for Najee. I think he saw whoever that was behind him. It all worked out and good confident booster. We have some really good receivers. Need to take advantage of them a lot more.

 

I think the coordinator really handcuffs the downfield passing game. If you don’t try to throw downfield you will never get splash plays or decent passing yardage. Kenny had a great last drive to win it but still only threw for 160 yards.

 

This aged well.

 

They still suck in the red zone if we're being blatantly honest. As long as they win it is what it is, but it seems kinda fluky when they win they way they do.

 

This same conversation about the Redzone has been around since the 90's. Nothing new.

Certainly not a recipe for continued success to not score TDs until the final minutes of a game however Kenny might have that clutch gene which is huge for his future.

Overall yes, but it just seemed a bit ironic that this guy posts his all bold thread about not scoring in the red zone then we scored in the red zone.

Sort of like when the announcers talk about how a RB has like 500 touches without a fumble and then, bam, like clockwork the RB coughs it up the next play.

Well if this RED ZONE conversation has been around so long it tells me the coaching staff has been bad since then and continues today. Sad

 

Not really. KP said in postgame that he had made the same play to Najee earlier and thought it would work if he had to roll away from pressure. Naj was the target.

 

They do suck in the red zone and it has been a conversation off and on for years. What matters is that moment they dont suck and you get a win… then it starts all over along with not covering TE’s or making adjustments etc… it’s all maddening and old hat and awesome rolled into 1. When they time it right that is hahahahaha

 

This thread is the equivalent of telling your wife that she never satisfies you orally, then continuing to complain 5 minutes after she finally does.
