Spot on. Draft is a crap shoot and if anyone doesn't understand that, then that's that. Winning, on the other hand, never has a bad day or does any wrong. Now, which do we prefer? Yes, that's right. Now, let's kill us some rat bird. JMO>

If Tomlin were available tomorrow there are 27-28 teams that would want him. (Cue up the clueless saying - “They can have him.”)

Serious question do you worry about the sun coming up tomorrow or if you will float off the surface of the planet suddenly? If not then why spend time obsessing over something you don't control? Karl knows he has no say in the matter so he isn't worried. You seem to think expressing your no confidence will be taken seriously. I'm pretty sure Karl is a lot happier right now with his approach.

Exactly, everyone wanting to tank to draft high must struggle to explain the last 22 years in NE. Or perennial contenders like the Steelers and Packers. The 2 of 3 superbowls was built without a top ten pick and making the playoffs most years: 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008.

I can name a few teams that wouldn't want Tomlin.

    Patriots
    Rams
    Chiefs
    Bills
    Bengals
    Ravens
    Eagles
    49ers
    Seahawks
    Vikings

That's 10...so maybe 21 teams minus the Steelers, that would "consider" hiring Tomlin. Not the 27-28 you are boasting.

I knew I could count on you! It was a bit of hyperbole for the point of emphasis. However, The Hawks and Patriots might go for the younger coach. And Even taking your number at face value, it’s two thirds of the league, so the point is still made.

I agree with 4 of those.
What has Rams shown us really as a coach????
That they could get rid of every draft pick they have, and get a super team , and still barely win one SB.
They may have the worst defense of a SB title ever.

Every time Tomlin calls a time out or throws a challenge flag a figure he's tanking the season.

they haven't had any significant playoff success in 12 years. He is failing at his own saying "The Standard is the Standard"

They still wouldn't replace him with Tomlin. I can't see any of those teams dumping their current coach for Tomlin.

Tomlin challenged the most plays in 2008. They tanked that year, didn’t they? Hard to remember.

Yep. Who we kidding? He would be on any number of teams as a HC in no time and to the highest bidder.

As much as I can't stand him sometimes he does keep it interesting all the time. If he takes this team to the playoffs there are probably some teams that probably wouldn't want to face us 1st round. Sneaking into the playoffs gives confidence more often than not.

If we don't make the playoffs then he also has to look directly in the mirror for the very poor start to the season.

How many teams wanted him before the Steelers hired him as our HC? Do you think if MT was that great, he'd be looking at other teams to get a better contract to make more money? He is ranked 8th in compensation, (that's after 16 years which is well beyond the normal tenure of a HC in this league, and you'd think he'd be 1st after that long on the job) so why isn't he trying to improve on that? Isn't that what the players do? Why even bring another MT discussion again? He's been here 16 years, and all know what he brings to the table. Some are ok with it, others not. Now you insult those you think disagree. I will be one of those who won't say "they can have him" but will be one of those who'll be thinking it. JMO>
