QB's named Manning, Brees, Rogers, and Stafford. Only the last one isn't a lock for Canton, and he's a pretty good bet. And only one of those was drafted by the team that won the Super Bowl.

I believe Brees was 2nd round, or way late 1st.

Manning, 1st overall draft pick, was drafted by Colts but won one with them before Ben won his 2nd SB and one with Denver after the Steelers won.

Brees was drafted after the running back LT, and both are going in HOF. Chargers are such a bad bad organization. Brees went to Saints to win SB.

Stafford, 1st overall draft pick, was drafted by Lions but won one with Rams

LT(the running back)shouldn't have got a HOF jacket . It's should matter that He sucked in the post season. Regular season shouldn't be the only factor. IMO.
I know it makes people mad , but it's true. He one of the worst post season RBs ever....probably the worst that is a HOF player for sure.

A high draft position over multiple years should do a couple things. Help us accumulate good young talent and eventually help us get a different coach. Those two things are a lot better than a little momentum into next season. I promise you this Tomlin will never win another divisional round playoff game. Ever

I can let the capitalizing of 'that' go, but I'm noticing your abuse of punctuation starting to rub off on JEH, and his posts were bad enough to begin with.

I can't root for my team to lose for any reason. It's one of the reasons I lost interest in fantasy football and, even though I like to gamble, I stay out of sports betting. I don't want any appearance of my team tanking, either. A losing attitude isn't that easy to purge. Some of these bozo's that are members here act as if there's a switch that can be flipped. You have to build a winning culture and fight to keep it. So enough with the losing to get a better draft position crap.

LT went to the postseason a lot when he was the only good thing on the team. The playoff teams focused on him (saying find another way to beat us). This happened to Barry Sanders as well. I guess in your book Barry Sanders sucked also

He was on crap teams earlier in his career, he had Ryan Leaf, Doug Flute, and even the Brees we saw in New Orleans was not the Brees in San Diego. There was a reason Rivers was drafted. Then the coach who knew him best, Marty Sch....can't spell it, was fired and replaced by a horrible coach, Norv Turner. There were around a dozen Pro Bowl players on the team when Norv took over and they lost the talent quick. He play through injury and he could barely come into the game against the Patriots. Barry Sanders had the same bad post season also, only 1 playoff game with over 100 yards.

I don't think you get an elected tackle drafting top ten, either. Just too much to ask of the scouting department, especially if only counting federal positions.

What gets me is people think we are absolutely horrible and have no talent, we have been a blown out in 2 games. Bills and Eagles. Other then that we have lost by 3-6 points. Besides a 12 point loss to the Browns that had them get 6 points in garbage time.

We are just a few players OL, ILB, CB away from being contenders. And also an OC.

We are very young on offense, our ILB’s are young as well.

we truly aren’t as bad as our record indicates. We can only get better.

    Oh that’s it?? LOL

All of that + DL too. Then…

    #1 WR - question mark
    #1 QB - question mark
    SS - question mark

Roster wise we’re probably 3rd worse. Behind Texans and Broncos. Maybe worse than Broncos too. But weren’t getting Top 3 pick because of stupidity.

Put down the Magic 8 ball. This team is in a rebuilding year and still only a few plays from being in the playoffs. Let's see how many other coaches could accomplish that.

If you don't think George Pickens can't be a number one you don't have eyes. KP is growing, learning, improving as the year has gone on. He's done more than I expected as a first year rookie thrown into the fire. Edmonds is not a star but he's been relatively solid this year compared to past performances.

This is a pretty solid roster, especially if Leal can continue his trajectory. Oline, while not great, has also gotten better throughout the year. No way in hell do we have anywhere near the worst roster in the league.

We need a stud tackle, a shutdown corner, and an ilb with range. Add those pieces and this will be a competitive team.

you realize that we should by all means be worse then what we are don’t you.

how many 2nd year OL we have?
how many years has our OL played together?
Rookie QB and a 1st time Steeler Qb in Trubisky

Watt injured half the season on Defense is a huge factor, not many starters on other teams could replace him, let alone backups.

get some ILB’s to help stop the run and that will be a huge improvement.

We should be having seasons like Bengals and Jacksonville has had when they started Rookie QB’s, heck how did Miami or Eagles do when Hurts and Tua were rookies?

Your recipe is to wipe the team clean and have all draft picks. Just how many years you think that will get us somewhere???

I will argue all day that during a rebuild it’s better to get a higher draft spot however

A I could never actually root for them to lose once a game starts.

B It could be a positive to end the year heading into next season on a high note from a confidence perspective

I’m certainly not in the tank camp but it’s definitely a debate about wether losing some meaningless games is better or worse. Go 6-11 get a higher slot or go 8-8-1 and still not make playoffs with worst draft capital.

OL and running game has certainly improved. Downfield passing game is still well below the line in terms of actually being a contending team. Defense is inconsistent but has some pieces.

CB LT DL and MLB are the 4 biggest needs and we are likely going to have 3 picks in the top 50 spots.

Tom Brady was a 6th rounder / Mitchel Trubisky was the second pick overall in the draft.

Which draft pick would you want to lead your team?

I dont think any of us want us to lose but when the team has so many holes to fill, it would be nice to draft earlier rather than later. Being 8-9 or 7-10 drafting in the mid to late teens or early twenties VS being 5-12 or 6-10 drafting near the top 10 or early teens could allow us to solve some of our issues quicker. I dont think any Steeler fan truly wants us to lose ever, but when its clear that this isnt the Stairway to Seven season, lets get better quicker.

If you are looking at the draft, Pittsburgh is currently at 14th. The Steelers should be able to get starters at DB, DL/ILB, and OL in the 1st and 2nd round. I assume the sequence of pick is who is rated higher on their draft boards by then.

4 p.m. window update from yesterday

Here’s the complete 2023 NFL Draft order. The first 18 picks are teams that would currently miss the playoffs. A division leader has a lower draft position than a non-playoff or wild card team with a better record because of the nature of playoff seeding. SOS serves as the tiebreaker and comes via Tankathon.

    Houston Texans, 1-12-1, .504
    Chicago Bears, 3-11, .570
Denver Broncos (Seahawks have pick), 4-10, .485
    Arizona Cardinals, 4-10, .521
Los Angeles Rams (Lions have pick), 4-9, .498
    Indianapolis Colts, 4-9-1, .508
    Atlanta Falcons, 5-9, .449
    Carolina Panthers, 5-9, .454
New Orleans Saints (Eagles have pick), 5-9, .498
    Green Bay Packers, 5-8, .553
    Las Vegas Raiders, 6-8, .456
    Jacksonville Jaguars, 6-8, .492
Cleveland Browns (Texans have pick), 6-8, .508
    Pittsburgh Steelers, 6-8, .536

I like Pickens but I’m not sold on #1 yet. Can he run the whole route tree? DJ sucks but he gets most of the defenses attention. Pickens gets a lot of single coverage.

Worse? I was screaming to address the o-line in Pounceys last two years. We would’ve had a better o-line and Pickett wouldn’t be injured every game.

Once again reading comprehension… I’m not saying wipe the roster clean with saying we have question marks at crucial positions + a lot of obvious holes that need to be filed. Just stating the obvious if we knew Pickett was our franchise QB, Pickens is a #1, we got a solid SS to pair with Minkah for a few years. Then okay… OL, DL, LBs, and DBs. Maybe we can get all that addressed in 2-3 drafts + FA. But when you add all the other variables…. It’s not looking good.

What is this? Is this your prediction on the 2023 Draft? You have the Packers on the list twice, so maybe trades are included, and then you have the Broncos still listed with their pick they sent to Seattle?
