Like I said another thread, the remaining season is win-win with our current records, make the playoffs or higher pick. If Steelers win I celebrate, if they lose I'm not down in the dumps.

 

First off, it’s not like we came into the season wanting to tank. Injuries, schedule, roster, coaching, etc dealt us a bad hand going into bye. You have to know when to hold ‘em and fold ‘em. We should’ve folded. Steelers are historically pretty good at drafting so the thought of getting higher picks was exciting.

Secondly, the thought of tanking never really crossed our minds with Ben. Because we always felt like we had a chance. What’s the best case scenario here? Backdoor into the playoffs and a playoff game with Mitch or two gloves against Bills or Chiefs? LOL

Next draft we might draft a few spots higher than normal. Plus, the Claypool pick. You guys will hype up whoever we get. It might take 2-3 years to see the real damage winning pointless games this year really did. But it was incredibly stupid. A lot of players on this roster are bums and won’t be here. The others are professionals and would’ve forgot by next year when we could’ve been playoff contenders. Multiple years of Tomlin mediocrity = half a season tank for player morale. This whole narrative of player morale for losing out is so stupid. They’re going to be on their couches pissed off come playoff time either way.

 

So what your saying is that every season that we don’t have a winning record at the halfway point we should just tank and wish for next season?

 

Here we go again for the hundredth time about who can replace MT. Who could have replaced Cowher? Maybe some nobody named MT could have? The elementary answer is several, if one does their homework, even without "magic". Are you really going to say that our current HC is irreplaceable and there is no one on earth capable to getting consistent .500 seasons? Please explain. JMO>

The battle of two 5-8 teams. We were the better 5-8 team today now 6-8.

When posters say they would want a better draft selection they are not saying tank. Well their may be a few. They are looking to the future with a new GM and assistant to rebuild some of this roster. And it's needed. If they lose, fine. If they win, fine.

Some posters get on the soap box and say that they have to save Tomlins winning season streak. I don't feel that 8-8 seasons count. Its a zero as far as i'm concerned.

They are not going to run the table. They will not squeak into the playoffs. I just hope that any of the keepers don't get a devastating injury for the remainder of the games.

So on to the Raiders. Let the chips fall where they may.
