    Larry O
    Witherspoon
    Bush
    Trubisky
Jack? His play isn't good enough to pay him 8 million, no splash plays.
    Alalu
    Mason
    Edmunds

These guys might get re-signed and won't cost much:
    Sutton
    Wormley
    Snell
    Kazee

Gunner isn't worth the $2.6 it would cost to keep him.

I would guess William Jackson will be gone, unless they are certain he will be healthy

Edmunds may be back for depth if no other team makes him an offer

Ditto bush after a FA scenario like Edmunds last year

Both would be ok as vet minimum backups unless someone else is picked up in draft or FA

I thought earlier in the season, Jack was all over the place but lately he seems like a non factor. Am I wrong about this? Has he been hurt?

He was, and still is, but He and Minkah can't be everywhere.

I wouldn't count Mason out, he will be half the cost of Mitch next year and I really don't see the Steelers using a 3rd+ round pick on a QB next year. In reality both Mitch and Mason will need to sign new contracts to return to the Steelers next year.

Just depends how many bridges the Steelers front office have burned with Mason. If Kenny is out; I can't wait to see who gets the start this week.

I am still holding out hope that my end of season QB depth chart prediction of #1 Kenny, #2 Mason, and #3 Mitch will come true.

It doesn’t really matter he was never the answer anyway. Either was Mitch and the jury is out on tiny hands and wether or not he can even hold up in the NFL.

They might ask Jack to take a pay cut. I doubt they are going to want to have to replace both inside linebackers, though I certainly don't think either has been very good.

I could see Edmunds returning on a cheap deal, too.

No way Mason is back. He’ll want (need) a fresh start somewhere.

Why would Mitch have to sign a new contract? Are you saying the Steelers will cut him if he doesnt renegotiate the 2nd year of the 2yr contract they signed when they brought him in?

It doesn't seem likely that they would pay him $8 million to back up Pickett.

Yes, his cap hit next year is over $10 million. No way they pay him that much money next year.

Steelers have to bring back somebody besides Kenny next year.

Like I said I don't see them using one of their top 3 picks in the draft to bring in a backup QB, and you don't want to go to camp with Kenny and 3 new guys.

Mason just needs to watch Dobbs out there making $8,000 a week bouncing from one practice squad to another.

The Steelers may want him back, but he’s not going to want to be back.

They can bring back the dude they drafted in the 7th round and cut in preseason if they want "continuity" with Canada's offense. lol

Word when they got him was he has a bum knee that limits his practice availability; he has missed practice time and they held him out against the Saints due to the knee.

Outside of the obvious in Alualu, Trubisky and Mason not coming back, I'm not sure how many of those we can afford to let go. It's quite obvious Mitch will find himself in the XFL, USFL or in Canada, and Mason will try to end up in a place like Seatle that needs a QB. Then we're looking at Alualu likely retiring. I do realize that the Steelers have plenty to spend, I have to ask will there be guys in the open market that's willing to come here that's an upgrade over the guys on this list and fit the culture/playing style of the Steelers. I just can't see the Steelers going out and getting two ILB's and a SS in the open market. I could see them adding a CB. I definitely think we need to get a veteran OL and WR, perhaps not to be starters, but to help provide leadership. I think the Steelers will have to get a veteran QB to help back up Kenny and draft a guy later to eventually develop into that backup guy. With the holes on the OL, DL, and CB I just think that there aren't enough draft picks and FA's out there to fill the holes; therefore, we got to bring some of these guys back even if it's one year deals.

    Witherspoon- gone
Bush-retain with a similar deal that Edmunds got this year
    Trubisky-gone
    Jack-restructure
    Alualu-gone
    Mason-gone
Edmunds- sign to 3-4 years on a team friendly deal

    Sutton- probably gone
    Wormley- probably gone
Snell- think they'll get him back. ok running back at times, but a ST player
Kazee- Not sure either way. Dude just seems ok. Can be a starter in this league.

    W. Jackson III- Is he worth keeping at a 9m dead space cap hit. I believe we'd have to cut him before the new football year to eliminate that hit, I could be wrong. Not exactly sure how that aspect works. But what guarantee will he be A: healthy B: playing at a high level... I think that's too much of a hit for those kinds of questions.

Najee Harris.... I personally keep him; however, if a team offers some draft stock I'm going to listen to the call.

Cameron Heyward has a $22 million cap hit next season.
Considering his level of play, I don’t see how that can work out.

    No

But you still need someone to hold the clipboard if Dobbs doesn’t come back

And it’s nice to have someone who is fairly priced and knows where the pencils are

Mason fits that bill and I don’t see him having a lot of other choices
