Why didn't Mitch get to run the ball?

Mitch has always been known as a runner, one of his biggest knocks is that he likes to abandon the pocket and take off running.

He is probably a better runner than Pickett, so why didn't Canada call any plays to get him out of the pocket and by himself some more time, or actually let him run with the ball a little? It is what he is known for; being a mobile QB.

I guess having Zach Gentry as your backup QB may be a reason you don't want to see your QB running down the field with the ball, but Canda should be trying to play to a player's talents, and not force him into the classic drop back we saw all game long from Mitch.

Wasn't the reason Mitch was brought into Pittsburgh to be a rollout mobile QB to begin with. They would be better off with Mason if they are not going to allow Mitch to roll out and run.

I don’t think it’s possible to find logic on any decision making with respect to the QBs or play calling.

Yeah, no idea why the NFL got rid of the Emergency 3rd string QB option.
