Why would Tomlin get fired, for saying at halftime that our offense would be just fine

The fire Mike Tomlin threads are NOT old, they are accurate and need to be said and need to be said often!! Lets compare Noll's resume to Tomlin's and then someone who thinks Tomlin still should have lasted longer than Chuck Noll can explain their stance. I dont give a rats behind about losing seasons and what not, what matters are trophies and Chuck had 4 in 14 years, Mikey has 1 in 15 !!!

Tomlin will have to be at his best coaching the rest of the way to get out this mess.

No #7 to get him back on track now...

He just won coach of the week 2 weeks ago, vs a washed up 90 yr old QB, who's wife has had enough of his whining at home. That just earned him another 3 year extension.

As a coach who has been to two SBs and never had a losing season I feel like he has warranted the time needed to try and rebuild this team. Not to mention they weren't exactly quick to can Noll or Cowher after losing seasons, or experiencing droughts in playoff/SB appearances.

That being said it should be when and if Kenny fails as a QB. The moment it becomes clear (no controversy) that Kenny is not the franchise QB they thought he would be is the day Tomlin should be let go, or forced into retirement. We all know picking the wrong QB can potentially set a organization back years and as far as we all know Pickett was a Tomlin guy. There was no reason, imo, for the Steelers to be sold on picking Pickett in the first rd...maybe later, certainly not the first. Now that they have picked him they are going to feel obligated to keep him around as a first rd pick to ensure another first rd pick hasn't been wasted which then is going to lead to further draft mishaps. It just creates a domino effect that's very difficult to recover from.

100%. More than any other reason discussed here this is the one I push when I do call for a coaching change. He’s been here 20 years, message has gotten stale. Time for a new cereal.

While firing Canada and Tomlin would be a good start. It will not make up for the lack of talent across the board.

They ARE old. There have been FMTI threads for as long as I've been a member. Usually from the same people. How often is often enough? People have been calling for his ousting for YEARS. How's that working out. The Rooneys obviously don't agree with (some of) the fans. Tomlin won't go anywhere until ownership has had enough, not some faceless people on a message board.
Noll didn't have to deal with free agency and was largely able to keep the core intact.

We have the highest paid defense in the NFL. If that does not mean we also have top D talent that means someone in the Steelers organization is bad at evaluating talent.

Why would we fire him when we could trade him? Every other person outside of western PA thinks he’s great because he has a colorful vocabulary of smoke and mirrors.

TRADE him! Trade him, Brian Flores and Claypool and get a bunch of picks and then go out and hire Sean Payton or the Bulls or Eagles OC.

Well, I get that reading the same old "tired" message is boring but you have the option to not read it all if you so choose. Mike Tomlin said it himself probably more times than we can find on the internet, but he claims this is a results oriented league and if a player doesnt produce results, someone else will. Well the same standard should be held to him as well. He isnt getting it done as a coach and his results are glaring. He isnt producing results, so someone else should be given the chance to do so.....just sayin!

Man we cant fire our HOF coach Tomlin!! I am sure he has a few more seasons of finishing 500 or better. Thats all we are after isnt it? The hell with SBs. Lets just finish above 500. Thats all we have to hang our hat on. The one super bowl that he has was with Cowhers team. They just handed him a SB that year. He should have won a couple more with all of the talent he has had to play with. But he is locked in like a tic on a dogs ass now. We got Tomlin until he decides that he wants to retire.
