They need to go after LOS scrimmage first 100%! Through FA, trade and draft. Keeping a guy like TJ is a risk moving forward. Lose him again and your pass rush and nearly whole defense drops a level. QB is not the problem here. Play calling, pass pro and defensive technique/scheme coupled with average front 7 play is the dagger

Exactly. NFL history is littered with examples of QBs who've had less than stellar rookie seasons but ended up being good. Unfortunately it's littered with even more examples of QBs who were busts. Regardless, I still think bailing on him and using another first round pick on another "if" is an absurd idea.

He did stumbled on the draw play and proceeded to call on it multiple times this game. I expect to see that same play at least six times against the Saints if Canada manages to hold on to his job

That's the heart of the team's problems. Blame the coordinators and the coaching staff; they have to own some of this mess. But there just are not enough varsity players on this roster. They've been missing on draft picks or using picks for positions like WR's where they could get by with FA's or UDFA's. How much sense does it make to have a good WR room (?) when your o-line can't block? When you're backs can't get off the L.O.S.?

 

One could also make the argument the Earth is flat. They even have conventions.

Based on he's dominated at Alabama where he's playing vs top tier talent in the sec that features allt of guys he'll see on Sunday. Not the acc your boy was in. And he's been alot better in college then Pickett was. I knew he wasn't good pre draft.

 

Tomlin took a top level team and let it slowly disintegrate over the years to this crap show. He always had Ben as a crutch to keep things respectable. The crutch is gone. He has never built a winner. He took over a winner and let it become a loser. I'm not seeing this turn around with him calling the shots. His teams have too often been sloppy and unprepared even when they still had talent. Now just ugly and bad.
