Also NBC expert rules Kenny first pick was pass interference.

    https://steelersdepot.com/2022/10/n...should-have-been-defensive-pass-interference/

Mcauley has 17 years as a ref for the record.

Now I don't care. But I care when people want to start threads saying Kenny is not any better than mitch and other non sense. Kenny shows a lot of highs of potentials.

Furthermore 3 starts and some of y'all compared him to how he is crap. Even brought up how you "thought" mahomes, Rodgers, Brady were lights out at the start. So let's take a deep dive......

    Mahomes....
First season was one game. 1 interception. No TD. Rating 76.
Second season started and was great from the start.
Hmmmm kenny already being thrown to the wolves. While Patrick got a year to learn.
    Screenshot_20221025_015653.jpg

    Rodgers.....
    First season nothing but bench.
    Second basically the same
    third 2 really good games.
    Forth great player
.... again Kenny is thrown to the wolves first season.
    Screenshot_20221025_015949.jpg Screenshot_20221025_020003.jpg Screenshot_20221025_020015.jpg

    Brady.....
Nothing but the bench first season
    Second season.
    - 3 first games were nothing but fails.
    - then 2 TD with a rating in the 90s
    - then a great game
    - then a huge fail with 4 picks and 2 TD.
.... again Kenny 3 games in and has been thrown to the wolves he first season.
    Screenshot_20221025_020412.jpg

    Screenshot_20221025_020522.jpg

    Hmmmm what about Terry Bradshaw....
Many who think of Bradshaw as the Goat really don't know how it was first several seasons for him. His intelligence and interceptions were laughed at for several seasons. In fact he lost his starting job. Look at how many seasons until he had more TD to INT.
.... vs Kenny who's been thrown to the wolves. Didn't get to practice with first team and was literally thrown in at the half. Simply because that was going to be better than what mitch brought.
    Screenshot_20221025_021229.jpg

So yeah I'm giving Kenny at a minimum the season. This ridicule some are doing here and on the media is complete ridiculous. Dude has an arm, hits players on the run very well, and he is only 3 games in as a starter.

.... y'all that are complaining clearly are not watching the same game. And no way would you have made it as steeler fan in 1970.

I agree. First the OC has to change before we can truly see what Pickett can do. Next year will be the time to judge.

I think people somehow convinced themselves Pickett will come in and be another Ben (or even better). The reality of not having another Ben is making people upset.

Rules expert is there to create controversy where there is none so we spend days or weeks complaining about it.

    Pickett ain't Mahomes

We don't have a Brett Farve on the roster for him to sit behind for 3 years but if we did I'm good with that.

Brady stepped in for an injured Bledsoe and just made a pro bowl and we know the rest there.

Was never a fan of taking a QB 1st or 2nd round in last years draft, but in Steelers fashion they reached and now the kid gets 1 contact to prove he is Mahomes, Rodgers or Brady.

And yes this coaching staff sucks from top to bottom.

Agree this coaching staff is not good and needs to be replaced.

Fans were sold Kenny was pro ready and would compete for the starting job, should have been told he would sit a year to learn behind Mitch and Mason.

I think the experience will be valuable although I am afraid learning under MT and Canada could ruin him. This coaching staff as a whole is horrendous.

I don't disagree... I was set to deal with a few bad seasons knowing this team was more than a QB away from being a real threat and contenders. I don't care if it's Pickett, Mitch or Mason under center this team is rebuilding but it needs to start with a new coaching staff.

Here’s the cool thing, it don’t matter what any of these chuckleheads think. The Steelers are going to do what they’re gonna do.

Personally I am not buying that there was interference on the first INT. That would have been a very questionable PI call.

Whether it was or it wasn't Claypool needs to do a much better job of maintaining his balance. I put the first pick on Chase.

I think Pickett is showing a lot of promise. We all knew there would be rookie moments. One of these games this team is going to put it all together and surprise some people. Looking at the schedule there is a chance to go on a little bit of a run after the bye. Watt should be back so anything is possible.

If the Steelers are 2-6 do you really risk bringing Watt back? We would have to go 7-2 the last 9 to finish the season above 500. At this point it would take a Matt Canada offense 10 years to get 7 wins.

If the Steelers go 2-6 that means there are still 9 games left to play. You can't sit a healthy Watt for more than half of your season.

9-8 seems farfetched at this point. But it is not impossible. This is kind of a trap game for the Eagles. Maybe the Steelers get a couple of balls bounce their way and they go into the bye 3-5. That would change a lot of things.

Bradshaw - one year as backup under Chuck Noll
Mahomes - one year as backup under Andy Reid
Brady - one year as backup under Bill Belichick
Rogers - three years as backup under Mike McCarthy

Pickett - three games as backup under Mike Tomlin

Not a fair comparison at this point.

Agreed and thankful for that. Like I said these kids wouldn't be able to handle Terry Bradshaw.

With how it is going, let watt come back when he is 100% or when we know he can play slightly less than 100% with knowing he'll be 100% regardless the pounding he'll take.

Exactly....Plus Watt got hurt first game of the season....so what's saying if He waits all year until next He doesn't get hurt.
If You are healthy You play....Period.....this whole sit Him until next season is dumb. You can get hurt, or not get hurt in any game.

But he has to truly be 100% with no chance of further injuring the initial injury. I agree you can get hurt any play or game but in a lost season where we are not making the playoffs why would you risk it unless he is 110%. If he comes back and gets hurt again next year is over as well.

Well that pec injury needs to be fully healed. You saw the play he basically hugged and rolled Burrow it didn’t take much.

It's OK if the Steelers have a losing season. I was born in '72 and lived through 7 or more of them... can't remember exact count. Yeah, it sucks when it happens....but good things usually occur after the losing season.

Steelers fans are spoiled. Especially the younger ones who were born in late 80's and 90's.

This team is as good as most believe it is, right now, but may not be as bad either, TBD. This season is a marathon, not a sprint and some things take time to come together. Until we are mathematically certain of having a losing season, or out of the playoffs, anything is possible especially for the things you mention. Schedule, TJ, potential OL improvement, KP development, etc. Canada isn't going to change as he is doing what he and others want, so you have to hope that the players out play his game plan. Once we're officially out of contention, THEN some major decisions and questions need an answer. So many have good points on what our shortcomings are right now, but 2022 isn't over, just yet. The rules expert on the broadcast and others since then have said it was interference. If the defender isn't looking back for the ball, they cannot make contact that impedes the receiver's progress, which is what happened on the play.
