Last night, especially the first half, it seemed, like Dolphins pass catchers were running willy nilly in the middle of the field. It was so egregious that Chris Collinsworth commented multiple times that the Dolphins WRs and TEs had no one within 5 yards of them as they caught 25 yard passes over and over again.

Meanwhile, contrast that with the Steelers offense which seems to shun the MOF. Instead we throw 99% of passes to the side lines or short of the sticks. On the rare occasion we go to the MOF it's a 8 yard pass to Muth.

So why can other teams throw 20 yards in the MOF and hit receivers in stride while we treat the MOF like it's covered in radioactive waste?

Is it solely Canada's fault? Is Pickett too short to see over the center? Something else?

It Canadas system. His system is built on jet sweeps and quick outs. That’s a great scheme when your winning in the 4th to control the ball. But all game? Absolutely not. You gotta throw posts, have crossers and take shots in stride.

But you gotta establish somewhat of a run game first. Najee ain’t it.

Mason Rudolph is pretty tall and he was doing the same thing. It’s Canada’s influence

The Steelers avoided the middle of the field under Fichner as well.

Yes, I knew that. Tua is even shorter at 6'1 and threw 30 passes to the MOF yesterday.

Can’t have a successful offense if you avoid the middle of the field

Pickett's two best throws this season were down the field over the middle. Both were passes to Freiermuth, the one against the Jets when he was about to get crushed and the fourth-down conversion on the final drive last night. They were perfect throws into tight windows. Pickett had much of his success at Pitt attacking the middle. If the lack of passes there really is a function of the design of Canada's offense, that is just another reason Canada needs to be fired now. His offense doesn't fit the strengths of his quarterback.
