…for starting Mitch. He wasn’t flashy, but he limited turnovers. Pickett is an interception factory.

Too late to put the genie back in the bottle, but if they stuck with Mitch the chances of winning would be much higher. Pickett’s turnovers have been backbreaking.

The upcoming draft should likely target a QB in the first round.

We may be in the CJ Stroud or Bryce Young sweepstakes...

Okay then look big picture. Win some pointless games with game manager Mitch. Ruin draft position and go one and done in playoffs.

Honestly with exception of Mitch against Tampa they are pretty comparable. I would just ride with the rookie and let him take his lumps for next season, with hopes he learns some lessons for next season.

I won't say we have another Landry "interception" Jones yet .Still a rookie let him play through it.
Our wide outs need to start helping him out. how is he to also improve with this joke of an OC in canada

And when Stroud or Young suck their rookie year, lets do three QB's in a row and get Caleb Williams in the top 5!!! LFG!!!

I can accept a poor performance from a rookie making his way through growing pains. He's barely been through 2 complete games worth of play time.
Mitch on the other hand has no excuse to look as terrible as he did at times. Sure he didn't have the INTs because he's afraid to throw the damn ball. The dude has been in this league for 5 years. Everyone knew what he was when they signed him. A placeholder, nothing more.

First step is to change the OC before we get to changing QBs.

unfortunately changing OC will happen, it at all, after this season.

Ken Pickett is not the pedigree of QB those two you just mentioned are. If he was he wouldn’t have gone to Pitt. I’m a Pitt fan btw before you attack.

Going back to Mitch makes no sense he is not a long term answer this is a lost season and we need to see how Pickett improves.

Josh Allen wasn't that pedigree neither, or he wouldn't have ended up at Wyoming.

I absolutely agree. Even if there is a sentiment that Mitch was a scapegoat of sorts, in light of the play calling and overall offensive performance, it's throwing the baby out with the bathwater at this point. To pull Pickett now would show an extreme level of disfunction by the coaching staff and organization as a whole. Besides, they have to figure out what they do/don't have in the young man

I do NOT think they should pull Pickett. But Trub gives them a better chance of beating Philly next week. So if the goal is to win each game as it comes, they should change.

again, my opinion is to just stick with Pickett knowing the season is likely over.

We can look at my posts regarding the QB's this past spring in the draft board. I wasn't a fan of any of the prospects. Frankly, I preferred to draft a linemen and see if Mitch had it or not and then draft a Stroud or Young. I'm not saying Pickett has the pedigree of Stroud or Young, nor am I even saying he's going to wear a yellow jacket someday. I just think it's foolish to give up on a QB after 2 or 3 seasons, let alone 12 OR 13 quarters. The biggest strength he has is that he's a student of the game. It may or may not mean anything though.

I’m definitely not giving up on him after 3 games but I am saying if by years end he doesn’t improve and we have a top 3 pick you have to at least consider it. Maybe they won’t and will give him 2/3 years regardless.

imagine if they drafted another 1st round QB next year? That’d be really funny to have Pickett, Trub and another 1st round QB on the roster. LOL

They could have twenty first rd QBs on the roster and none of them would be any good with this coaching staff.

And then refer to my post about giving up on Stroud or Young if they show little to no promise. Should the Bears give up on Fields or does his "pedigree" give him leeway that you're not giving Pickett? Frankly, Pickett is actually looking like a better prospect than Fields at the moment, even with Pickett's struggles.

Im not a big Fields guy I think they should give up on him yes. What’s the point in dragging it out if after two years he looks that terrible? Just wasting seasons with no progress doesn’t make sense to me but I realize people have a hard time admitting they were wrong.

And giving up on QB's is kinda why this league is trash at the moment. This league refuses to let QB's develop. Terry Bradshaw would've been dumped by year 2 by today's standards. So many highly praised prospects when they're Sr's are out of the league by year 4. So what makes me truly think that Stroud or Young are the next Mahomes when we can talk about Haskins, Paxton Lynch, Mitch Tribuski, Baker Mayfield, Ryan Leaf, Colt McCoy, Johny Manziel and so on. Everyone wants a QB to be a pro bowl guy almost immediately. Some guys are that diamond in the rough that's great off the bat, and there's a laundry list of guys that didn't take off until year 4, including a Joe Montana. Pickett may be a bust like the former as well.

You make valid points it’s a tough call on when to pull the cord. A guy like Fields doesn’t even look close to a capable NFL QB the odds of him turning it around are very low. My opinion on wether to draft another QB comes down to how Kenny finishes this year and do we really get a top 3 pick and have a chance to get the first or second ranked QB in what is supposed to be a string QB draft. The issue I have with KP is that he was taken too high and now we are somewhat stuck because they won’t admit they were wrong if that’s how things look end of year. Hopefully he improves enough by seasons end that this is a moot point.

No... Go with Pickett. Give him his first contract. MT said he was pro ready. Always wondered why no other teams saw first round grades on any of those QBs.

Fan base gives up on QBs faster than the league does this day and age. Was never a fan of a 1st or 2nd round QB last year but know that Pickett is here he needs this first contract to prove he can be the guy or just a guy that is a #2 on a roster
