There will always be A-Holes, all Twitter does is give them a voice or a megaphone to shout louder than they should.

If I was ever famous or in the public eye, I would either not have Twitter (and I don't), make my profile private, or just not look at the comments.

I don't think this is anything new or getting worse. This type of crap been going on forever, but social idiocy just makes it more out in the open. Low information is the term I see used for the clueless. JMO>

 

I was doing volunteer work in Brazil..80's I believe. The world cup was going on, big time fans their. A guy from the Columbian team gave up a goal and the team lost. We celebrated with the brazilians..good times until we found out a few days later that Columbian guy was murdered. Making threats is bad enough..but there are those who follow up. Then you realize no game is worth a human life. Still resonates with me decades later.

 

I was raised in the late 40’s-50’s. I’ll take those years over today’s world anytime.

I'm afraid you have even me and JEH beat at longevity. We came way after the 1840's and 50's. But while a bit fuzzy about those times, I do generally share your sentiment.

 

I worked in Honduras back in the early 2000’s. My first night in the country Honduras beat Mexico in a soccer match. Afterwards I honestly thought a war had broken out. It was absolutely insane the way they celebrated. Wonderful people, just terribly impoverished.

 

I thought I noticed a resemblance........
